Ask Steven

Someone asked me about the start-up capital needed for this business. I guess it’s good for me to shed some light on it.

On my first month, I spent less than $100 on Google ads.

That was basically my start up capital (other than my monthly subscription fees to PPC-Coach membership). Back then, I didn’t spend money on KeywordElite. I used free tools from Wordtracker and Google Keyword Tool.

Though I’ve tried my best to explain step-by-step how I make money with the Poll Method on 100adaymethod.com, a few people still don’t get it.

So, I’m going to show you a couple of screen captures so that you get to see my landing page and email submit offers as I explain.

Let’s get started.

1. First, you need to sign up with a few CPA networks.

I recommend Azoogle, Affiliate.com, Hydra Media, Flux ads, Neverblues, XY7.

They’ve tons of email-submit offers for our campaigns.

They’ll call you for verification after you send in your application. If you sound like you don’t know what you’re doing, they may reject your application.

(My $9 report gives you tips on how to get approved. To save bandwidth, I’m not going to spend another 5 pages explaining the details of those tips, so go get a copy of the report if you feel like it).

2. The second step is getting a poll idea.

If you’ve read my ‘Copy n Paste Poll’ report, you should be able to harvest a few great ones from Yahoo Answer. (If you don’t have a copy, click here to get the report free.)

If you follow my guidelines in the said report, you’ll get proven polls that people want to vote on, and all you have to do is go in, copy and paste them, use them, and make money.

Now, say I found an Obama related poll from Yahoo Answer…….

I’ll run this poll:

Do you think Obama’s policies resemble socialism?

3. Step three, I need to create a landing page.

obama-poll

For this poll, I’m offering a $50 McDonald’s gift card for voting.

What I’ll do is, I pick a $50 McDonald’s Gift Card offer from Affiliate.com

When my visitors click on any of the blue option links (those are my affiliate links), they’ll be sent to the following Email Submit Offer Page.

mcdonalds-offer-page

This offer from Affiliate.com pays out $1.10 to me when someone enters his email.

Why would someone want to pay out $1.10 to us just by getting an email address?

It’s simple: Advertisers are paying money to buy a list of possible customers. For years, advertisers have been paying all forms of media to buy leads, and this is one of them. It’s as simple as that.

4. Next, I’ll set up a Google ad to drive traffic to my landing page.

obama-ad

When I start a new campaign in Google Content Network, I set my bid at $0.20 initially and slowly lower it down to $0.10 to $0.06 over 24 to 48 hours.

This is how I do it:

I start the bid at $0.20 cents and then wait to see if I start getting impressions and clicks.

When I see impressions come to around 1000 - 2000, what I do is lower the bids 3 times a day.

Say, I spend 0.07 per click on my ad and I command an 80% CTR Click Through Rate on my landing page.

(This is easy to achieve as I’ve run more than 100 polls. I’ve a proven landing page template in place. Just copy and modify for different polls. If you ever join PPC-Coach through my affiliate link, I’ll send you my guide free of charge.)

My per click cost would be 0.087 (0.07×100/80 –> 80% Landing Page CTR) when the punters reach my Email Submit Page.

Assuming an Email Submit offer pays out $1.10, 20% of them throw in their email, my EPC (Earning Per Click) would be $0.22

$0.22 - $0.087 = $0.13 ….. That’s my profit after Google cost.

For each $0.087 I spend, I net $0.13

More than 100% ROI!

When I send 1000 clicks per day to my offers spread over 10 campaigns, I’ll make around $130 per day.

So, my job is to roll out as many campaigns as possible to get those 10 campaigns.

I didn’t want to be too salesy when I first met you in the middle of the cyberspace.

But since you’ve been reading my stuff thus far, I’ll have to be frank with you. If you’re dead serious about this business, I recommend you join PPC Coach and use automation tools the first day you run this business.

With automation tools like Landing Site Generator, Tracker, and Rotator you can easily roll out 10 polls in a day.

No matter how well you plan your campaign, you’ll still have polls that don’t pick up for whatever reason. So, you need to pump out as many polls as possible to find your winner.

A person who tells you that the Poll Method does not work may be manually coding his html page and only gets to roll out one poll every 3 days. Chances of making it big are slim with just a few polls.

You get my point?

I’ve pumped out more than 100 polls and I am now making around $3,000- $5000 a month with this method.

I know someone in PPC Coach making $10,000 - 17,000 a month because he has pumped out 400 polls.

Also, there are members making $1000 - $2000 a day by just using this Poll Method alone.

In short, we use tools that are specifically custom-made for the poll method, and we quietly make money using this method even when other quitters say that it’s not working……………..

I hope this explained.

If you have questions, post them here (as many questions as you want) I’ll try my best to help.

I suggest you bookmark this page. That way, if you need help two days from now, you can come back. I’m always here for you.

If I understand you correctly these are in fact ‘fake’ polls. With ‘fake’ I mean: you don’t collect the poll results but instead you send them directly to the CPA offer. That is something I did not get from your report. I was wondering which poll software you were using.

2

Steven 02.06.09 at 9:00 am

You’re right, we don’t collect any poll results. We send them direct to the CPA offer. We use poll as an “excuse” to get people vote and then send them to an offer page so we can monetize.

I don’t use any poll software. You don’t need a poll software, just send punters to offer page will do the job. As long as you put a prize on your landing page, your traffic will convert.

Take a look at my prize on my Obama landing page. That’s a $50 McDonalds Gift Card.

Just wonder, what is PPC coaching. Is it yours too? How much is it cost? What others will I get in the coaching despite than this type of tips. Since what you told here is already considered much detail. I don’t see anythings else needed.

No, I don’t own PPC-Coach.com. I am a member there just like everyone else.

It’s a membership site which you need to pay Canadian Dollar $49.90 (about $40 USD) per month as a member. The membership provides tools for me to automate my business model. Without those tools to automate stuff I might be able to make a shot when I’m lucky one day or another. But not being able to making consistent income like what I’m today.

With Canadian Dollar $49.90 per month, you get:

1. free Tracker for your poll campaign

2. free Offer Rotator for your poll campaign

3. free Google Content Network Keyword Generator Tool

4. free Google Search Network Keyword Generator Tool

5. free Landing Page Generator

6. free PollBot 2000

7. free Video tutorial

8. free coaching by 2 full-time coaches. One of them is Will Haimerl, who made his fortune in affiliate marketing with PPC. I learned my poll method from him.

9. an active forum with Threads: 9,222, Posts: 55,758 (you don’t find ghost house here )

10. poll method is the 1st month project, every month, the membership provides you a new niche and the exact merchant to promote! (yes, with PPC)

11. you get to pm me to get my free consultation.

In my book, you’re pretty much covered with the basic knowledge on running successful polls online. Now you need some tools to automate stuff and scale up campaigns. That’s about it.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your reports.

How much money do you think is a realistic amount to be successful with this method and ppc.

I would imagine the success of any campaign would solely depend on the keywords selected. What kind of help can I expect in this regard if i choose to join ppcoach through you?

Thanks again.

admin 02.07.09 at 2:36 am

Though I started with less than $100 as seed capital, I would suggest you set aside $200-$300 for ads. That allows you to make more mistakes before you master the skill.

Yes, a targeted keyword list is important. Nevertheless, Google Content Network is different from the Search network. In the Content Network, we’re not tracking keywords. This is because Content Network ads are theme-triggered, not keyword triggered.

Google looks at the keywords in your adgroup as well as your actual ad in order to figure out where to place your ad. Knowing which adgroups convert is crucial too…

If you join under me (this is my affiliate link: http://www.ppc-coach.com/jamaffiliates/jrox.php?id=472
), for your first 2-3 campaign, I’ll personally take a look at your Google ad copy, and critic your Landing Page. I can even log into your Adwords account to make sure you set up everything right before you start. You’ll make fewer mistakes this way. Other than that, you get to pm me in the membership for advice. Though I can’t guarantee I have answers to all your questions, I’ll try my best to help.

Hey Steve,

I have purchased your ebook and soon I will register at PPC-Coach with your ref.

Now I need your help.

affiliate.com sent me via email some questions:

“Hello,

Thank-you so much for applying to affiliate.com.

As part of our approval process, we do need you to answer these questions before approval can occur.

Could you please answer the following to the best of your ability:

How do you plan on marketing our campaigns?
What type of campaigns/offers are you looking for?
How did you come to hear of our network?
Was there anything else I can direct towards your Affiliate Manager to support you with initially?

Lastly, have you had an opportunity to review our Terms and Conditions? It is imperative we screen affiliates and accept the very best into our network. At affiliate.com we have a zero tolerance policy. You will forfeit all earnings if we determine you are driving traffic or generating leads in manner which violates our Approved Affiliate Practices.

Upon receipt of your email, a pending analyst will process your application. Please have patience as there is a lot of interest in joining affiliate.com! Thank you!

Have a wonderful day,
The Pending Analyst Team”

Could you please help me.

How should I answer this? Could you help me answering those questions to get approved.

How would you answer?

Thanks in advance.

Most people get rejected because they don’t have a decent website to show the networks.

I’ve a little trick where you get to set up a professional website in 5 minutes.

It’s simple and fast.

You download a free script, upload it to your hosting, a few clicks and you’re done.

It gives you a great site that most networks “love”. Last year, I tried this with Azoogle and I was approved in 24 hours!

The steps:

1. Sign up at https://pnp.bigfishgames.com/

2. Download the SGS package and install it (pretty easy)

3. You’re done. You now have a nice, content filled site to use to submit.

An example site:
http://www.newfamilygames.com/new-download-games.html

Once you’ve your site ready, unless they insist to look at your site, don’t show them you URL first. As they’re only asking for a “screen shot”, take a screen capture of your main page, send them a JPEG file is good enough. I only shoot them a JPEG.

14. If you are interested in Email campaigns…
Where do you get your email lists?
How big are your email lists?
How often do you or are you planning to do email drops?
No, I’m not

15. If you are interested in Web/Banners…
What types of offers are you interested in running with us? What has been your most successful campaign?
Please confirm the site(s) that you plan to run banners on
No, I’m not.

16. If your domain(s) are privately registered, you will need to email us a receipt from your domain registrar or a screenshot of your online management panel—something showing the domain name and your name and address—so that we can verify ownership.
Do what they request.

17. If you are interested in another type of traffic…
Please tell us about how you generate traffic, what types of offers you plan to run, and what experiences you’ve had in the past with this traffic type.
I am going to generate traffic via Google and YSM, I plan to run Ringtones, Downloads, Dating offers here. I’m going to build mini sites around the themes, draw traffic to my landing page and send them to your offers.

18. If you listed “contextual” traffic on your application, please explain what you mean by this”
I didn’t

I’m from overseas, so I need to send in a W8Ben Form. here is my sample:

Sign the form, put in a date, and you’re good to send them.

Yes, I mail them the physical form.

Hi, have you tried commission junction for this sometime?

12

admin 02.09.09 at 2:12 pm

Poll method monetize our traffic with CPA networks email submits (per per submits) offers.

Zip and email submits means that when a person enters their zip or email address into the offer page, we get paid. They’re very easy to convert, since very little is required of the user.

Most of Commission Junctions merchants pays per sales. It’s very much different.

13

Angie 02.10.09 at 8:32 am

Hi Steven,

I have some questions with regards to landing pages, wonder if you can help?

For email submits, do we get credited only when the subscriber goes to their email address to confirm their subscription (like double opt-in) or are we credited once they enter their email address on the landing page?

For Poll method, do the landing pages have to comply to some Google rules (with “About”/ “FAQ” links, etc) or can we just create simple html webpages (which we can cut and paste from the html creatives they provide)?

Appreciate your kind advice. Thank you for the time.

Kind Regards,
Angie

Steven 02.10.09 at 9:11 am

We’re credited once they enter their email address on the network offer page. No double opt-in.

Though QS is not too important when you’re running ads in the Google content network, you still need basic set up for each of your landing page to please Google.

Basically, this is what you need for good QS:

1) Keyword in ad headline, body.

2) Keyword in prominent positions on the landing page (title, h1, h2, body text, link text).

3) Some content on the landing page, at least a few paragraphs, which could be anything as long as the keyword is in there.

4) A link to a privacy policy, which you could find in so many websites online. Just copy from one and modify for your site.

5) A link to another site that’s trusted and important. I recommend Wikipedia, as Google loves it.

You can use tools like Dreamweaver to build a template for each of your poll pages. Just fill in different content for each poll.

I use PPC-Coach Landing Site Generator to build all of my poll landing pages. It’s a script to generate a landing page for you automatically.

All you do is plug in your seed keywords, and VOILA! You have a landing page. You just plug in your seed keywords. It creates a bunch of RSS feeds populated by your seed keyword.

Everything can be customized and it provides the search engines with spider food big time.

I got rejected from Affiliate.com

” We appreciate your interest in affiliate.com and thank you for taking the time to apply. Our application review process consists of various in-depth analysis of the information provided to us. At this time we are unable to accept your application to join our affiliate network.

As every application is reviewed and taken into consideration, please understand there are several possible reasons for the denial of your application:

Failure to reply to our phone (or email for International Applicants) correspondence with you, in the allotted 5-days ”

I hope I will get accepted from Azoogle

Did you call them after you’ve signed up online? If they called, but fail to reach you, they’ll reject your application. So, I always suggest people to call them.

18

Jack 02.12.09 at 12:59 pm

No I didn’t but I don’t think that it’s only because of that I got rejected.

Anyway I hope Azoogle will accept me

Nigel 02.12.09 at 3:44 pm

Hi there,

I got accepted into AzoogleAds network right after I’ve sent in the questionnaire requested by them even though I’m from Singapore. They said that they’re accepting US and Canadians, which is not true. They’re still recruiting International Affiliates who know what they’re doing..or know how to bluff their way out. I’ve mailed the tax form over to their office right after I got their email.

I’ve also signed up at Affiliate.com , hydra, fluxads, and a few others. To be honest, I’ve registered myself in so many Networks that I’ve lost track of which Network I’ve already applied. hah =)

Anyway, If i were to stick with just 3 networks, which 3 Networks would you recommend that has most email zips and those that are highly recommended and used in PPC-Coach forum?

22

admin 02.12.09 at 4:37 pm

FluxAds, Affiliate.com, Neverblue

23

Nigel 02.13.09 at 4:44 pm

Hi Steven,

I’ve just read your other email on how to get into the Networks. In the ebook you posted a sample of W8BEN form here http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo251/ppcc2008/w8ben-sample.jpg

Shouldnt you be ticking the check box @ PART III Section 11?

24

admin 02.13.09 at 4:47 pm

I didn’t tick that.

25

Syamsul 02.16.09 at 3:14 am

Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. Your answers have really helped clarify some of my doubts, and I guess I’m one step closer to trying this out. I hope you don’t mind if I ask you some more questions regarding this venture.

Regarding costs involved, you mentioned $100 seed capital for Google and $49 for PPC Coach. Do I need to get a domain and hosting in order to be successful? Also, do I need to set aside some capital for Yahoo and MSN as well?

I read through your 7 page guide on how to get accepted by CPA affiliates. Presently, I don’t have any web presence to speak of, although I do have a generic domain with no hosting. Will this affect my chances of getting through? Also, do I need to pay any subscriptions in order to join these CPA affiliates? And how reliable are they in making payment?

On average, how many polls do I need to run in order to become profitable? E.g. if I were to target making a profit of US$50 a day. Also, in your experience with newbies, how long does it take before our efforts begin to bear some fruit?

Finally, because I’m not from the US (I stay in Singapore), what other accounts do I need to set up in order to get into this apart from Paypal?

I’m really grateful for your advice, and I hope your answers will crystallize my resolve to get into this line.

Thanks so much and hope to hear from you!

Cheers,
Syamsul

Yes, you need a hosting and domain. They’re small investment, so I guess I’ve missed them.

I don’t run ads in Yahoo and MSN. At the time I’m writing, Yahoo charges a minimum bid of $0.10. We need lower CPC to make money with polls. MSN’s traffic is the lowest among the big three, (Google, Yahoo, MSN) So I don’t waste my time with them.

You really need a domain. Get one from namecheap. Google “name cheap coupon” to get it slightly less than $9 for one. No, you don’t need to pay CPA networks.

It’s hard to tell on how many polls will make you profit. If you don’t have proper guidance, it not easy to make it (just like any other stuff in life, you need a good coach). With my guides here: http://100adaymethod.com/join-ppc-coach and PPC Coach coaching, you’ll have a great advantage over the mass. I made my profit after spending less than $100 with Google.

You don’t need anything else other than paypal and a bank account. CPA networks will send you commission either way.

Hi Steven,

Basically, I’ve a domain and following your instructions as per the CPA-Passport.pdf, I’ve created a site from the SGS package from bigfishgames. As I presently don’t have dedicated hosting, I used free webhosting from bytehost and made a URL frame from my domain.

I intended for this domain to be the website whereby I present to the CPA networks when I sign up with them for membership. Everything on the site is generic content from bigfishgames, apart from title and subtitle. Based on your experience, do you think it’s enough? Or do I need to have a certain number of daily viewership before I’m considered a credible candidate?

Membership-wise, what happens if I’m rejected by a CPA network? Do I get a chance to apply with them again in the future, or is that the end of the line and I’ll have to start looking for other CPA networks to join?

Also, is it recommended for me to gain membership with the CPA networks first prior to joining PPC Coach? Or can I start even without having a single CPA network membership?

28

admin 02.16.09 at 9:10 am

As long as you can proof domain ownership, I don’t see a problem. You don’t need traffic before you can apply to them.

Some network allow appeal if they reject you the first time. If you get rejected again, you might need to wait for a couple of months to send in application again.

Again, you could use other people’s name to apply (family members etc….)so no worry. I’ve done that too :-)

You can join PPC Coach even before you get to sign up with a CPA network. This way, you don’t waste time waiting. You can learn and read up stuff while waiting for CPA networks to approve your application.

The good news is, the owner of PPC Coach runs a CPA network! as long as you’re a member of PPC Coach, they’ll approve your application 100%. Once you’re in PPC Coach, you’ll get all details. The network is Wotogepa. Here is the URL: http://www.wotogepa.com

Hi Steven:

I’m sure that 100s of people run polls, and I’m sure there are 50 people running Obama polls right now - can money still be made when there are numerous polls on the same subject?

Thanks,

Da

30

admin 02.18.09 at 2:56 am

No worry about competition.

The only thing you need to worry is, do you have the right skill to make it.

Yes, tons of people running Obama related polls, but to be able to success in this method, there are lot’s of factors involve (that’s another reason why you need coaching and not ebooks). Keyword list, offer rotation, skill to create a high CTR landing page, skill to craft ad copy, knowing how to stop a bad campaigns, knowing how to scale up profit ones, tracking, etc….all add up to make a successful campaign.

roll out a few Obama ads in Adwords alone doesn’t guarantee success…make sense?

I’m still making money from Obama related polls since the day he started his presidential election campaign. Why? I know my stuff. simple as that.

I’m doing good with CX Digital’s Colon Cleanse Pro and Boca Java from Pepperjam.

This should be good. Tell them you’re going to run PPC direct linking so your website isn’t really all that applicable.

I’ve a free report to explain the step-by-step on how to get accepted into any CPA Networks. Read and apply my steps, you shouldn’t have a probelm getting approved by most of the networks you apply to.

Hi, Steven!
Do you think you could provide a template of the clean HTML page you use?

Thanks

34

admin 02.19.09 at 7:35 am

That’s a part of my bonus to people who join PPC Coach through my affiliate link. I provide a template and 2 PDF guides to show you how to set up and modify the template.

35

Alex 02.19.09 at 7:49 am

Oh thanks!
I guess I missed that part ;)

Karl 02.21.09 at 6:05 pm

I wish to join with affiliate.com however on their sign up page they are asking for a SS/corp id/ABN number? Is this for US residents? I am from the UK and have never heard of this before?

37

Steven 02.21.09 at 6:24 pm

That’s Social Security Number for US. Use your tax number for the field.

38

Vic 02.21.09 at 11:28 pm

Hi Steven,
Appreciate all your time and help.

Can I run a poll landing page for any non incentivizable offers? Or does it violate the terms?

thank You

39

Steven 02.22.09 at 1:28 am

Yes, you can do it. I use all non incentivizable offers. It doesn’t violate the terms.

40

Damir 02.22.09 at 2:20 pm

Sorry, can someone ecplain what are “incentivizable offers” and what are “non incentivizable offers”?
Also, it has passed 4days now sice I applied for Azoogle. Still waiting….

oh, and one tip for SGS package from bigfishgames.
when you unpack it, theres a folder \docs and inside it its file intsall.htm and inside it are instructions how to install (it took a me 3-4 hours to realize that :)

41

Steven 02.22.09 at 4:06 pm

Yes, I only use non incentivized offers for polls.

Any affiliate offer that is promoted through the use of incentivized traffic is classified as an incentivized offer.

Incentivized traffic meaning any traffic that visitors is provided an added incentive to follow.

Usually, networks have strict guidelines on incentivized offers. You need to follow them. Else, you may be kicked out of the network, and your earnings suspended.

shab 02.25.09 at 5:48 am

hi Steven,

I just bought your book. good stuff. btw, are you using meta refresh to cloak referrers? or youre just letting them know where your traffic source came from? As of now I’m pretty confused as I heard a lot of debate about this through various forums.

43

Steven 02.25.09 at 6:42 am

Yes, I use double meta refresh.

44

Pedro 02.26.09 at 8:06 pm

Hi Steven,
What is cloak referrers and what you need to use meta refresh?
thks

45

Anthony 02.27.09 at 1:41 am

Hey,

I have a couple questions if you could help me out.

1) How much do you spend on a poll to determine its a dud? I realize it depends on the cost of the clicks, so a better question to ask would be how many impressions should I let the poll run for until I know its not working?
2) Whats the typical conversion rate your getting so I know what to expect when tracking my polls
3) In Keyword Elite, what are the search settings you have them set up to? Ask? Google? Yahoo? KeywordsWT? Meta Tags? Misspells?
4) To be clear about what you said on your ebook is for every ad group we need (40 groups assuming 2000 keywords) a different SUBID - which would need its own landing page? That seems like way to much to handle without PPC coach. There seems like no point in trying to do that without a script to do that for you. Or am i completely wrong with my assumption?

46

Steven 02.27.09 at 2:30 am

Sending traffic through double meta refresh will remove the referrer. This way, CPA network doesn’t know where out traffic is coming from. It’s just like someone directly type our affiliate link in the browser.

47

Steven 02.27.09 at 2:39 am

1) How much do you spend on a poll to determine its a dud? I realize it depends on the cost of the clicks, so a better question to ask would be how many impressions should I let the poll run for until I know its not working?

Either one of this happen, I stop the campaign:
$15 in the hole
After 100 clicks and you still lose money
After 30 clicks and still no lead
After 50 clicks and only 1 to 2 leads
Rotate more than 10 offers, still no conversion

2) Whats the typical conversion rate your getting so I know what to expect when tracking my polls

Landing page CTR around 80%
Email submit conversion 15%-20%

3) In Keyword Elite, what are the search settings you have them set up to? Ask? Google? Yahoo? KeywordsWT? Meta Tags? Misspells?

Google + Yahoo when I’m lazy to delete junks later.
Use the rest if you can’t find enough keywords.

4) That seems like way to much to handle without PPC coach. There seems like no point in trying to do that without a script to do that for you.

Yes you’re right, if you’re planning to go big with polls you need scripts.

48

Anthony 02.27.09 at 6:52 am

Thanks for your help.

So I set up my first PPC campaign today on a voucher. However, this voucher doesn’t allow me to use the basic version of adwords so I am unable to create adgroups. So either tomorrow or the day after I will get a real adwords account under a my cc.

As for tracking, I used prosper 202 for now to track my keywords for now. I am not sure if I set it up right, but I do intend to use PPC-coach very soon.

At the moment, I just have 1700 keywords on a political poll with no adgroups tracked through prosper with a CPC of 0.20 and a budget of 100/month.

All I hope to get out of this is just a learning experience from adwords and how it works.

Wish me luck. I wanted to thank you again Steven for your help.

I do have one question I ran into while working with adwords. How does adgroups and subids connect to one another? Is this based on the keyword insertion or does each adgroup allow you to set your own unique url?

Thanks

49

DaKrisht 02.27.09 at 10:37 am

First, I have to hand it to Steve for being so generous and sharing so much knowledge and experience with people on DP and especially on PPC-Coach. So thanks for that, Steve.

There are many ways to make money, but if you want to get into the PPC game, start by reading Steve’s book and than make your decisions.

The tools available on PPC-coach are well worth the cost of membership not to mention the great members, solid community, help and tutorials, people like SteveL and many others!

I found out about Steve’s method 3 weeks ago. Today, I make more a day than I used to make every month using AdSense (on a 200,000+ unique visitor / month blog site).

I only wish there were more hours in a given day so that I could roll out more polls… ;-)

50

Steven 02.27.09 at 3:44 pm

Anthony, In the Content Network, we’re not tracking keywords. This is because Content Network ads are theme-triggered, not keyword triggered.

Theme-triggered means Google looks at the keywords in your adgroup in order to figure out where to place your ad.

Knowing which adgroups convert is crucial.

Some adgroups convert better than others; some don’t convert at all and you end up losing clicks. Losing clicks means losing money.

You need to know which adgroups are working. You need to track your adgroup. You can do this either through CPA Network SubID ( which is free), or get a paid tracking tool to do it.

Though it’s free, personally I don’t like Prosper 202. I need to go through too many steps to set up tracking for each campaign.

51

Steven 02.27.09 at 3:48 pm

DaKrisht, glad to know you’re successful with poll method. Keep up the good job!

52

Anthony 02.27.09 at 7:17 pm

Hey,

I do understand how you have to track your adgroups to get rid of bad keyword groups. But, the setup is what I am wondering. If you setup a subid say for adgroup 1, does that Subid adgroup 1 become your affiliate link for your destination URL for your text ad? Would that mean you would be making 40 text ads with 40 different sub ids? Perhaps I should read about this instead of asking you.

Yeah, I noticed how many steps you must go through in prosper and I am reconsidering it.

Thanks for the tip

Anthony

53

Steven 02.28.09 at 1:59 am

You’re right. 40 text ads with 40 different sub ids….if you’re doing it by hand.

This is where tracking software comes into play. PPC Coach Tracker allows me to create one affiliate link to track them all.

54

Anthony 02.28.09 at 7:34 am

Hey,

Hmm, I see your point. Alright, I will go right ahead and sign up for PPC Coach. Can you link me to your affiliate link? You also mentioned you’d take a look at my adwords account for the first couple campaigns as well right?

My voucher did not work for some reason, so I just set up a Adwords account with my CC and will set up my first campaign + landing page. I believe you’ve seen my lp already and said it was good enough - so i think i am fine in that aspect.

I went onto Buzz went to the political thread, found a campaign that high a high comment + view count that the poll has been up less then 2 weeks old.

Set up a campaign like this:
___ vs. ____
1 Minute Poll
Question…

Set the monthly budget for the campaign to $100/month, and a CPC at 0.20 to start.

That is the poll method basically correct? Now to just wait for results.

Thanks again! Please comment if i am missing anything

55

Steven 02.28.09 at 8:05 am

This is my affiliate link:
http://www.ppc-coach.com/jamaffiliates/jrox.php?id=472

Yes, I’ll take a look at your adwords account for the first couple campaigns.

Set your daily budget to $50. It’s DAILY budget not MONTHLY budget.

56

Anthony 02.28.09 at 9:33 am

Alright, signed up. Lets get this method up and running!

Thanks!

57

Matt Schieltz 03.01.09 at 6:02 am

Hey! I bought your Poll Method ebook and have read it twice over so far. The method seems pretty interesting but I do have a couple questions.

1. How much should I be prepared to spend on Google Adwords in the beginning? You mentioned in the ebook that you have your daily limit at $100, but said that Google doesn’t get anywhere near that. How close to the $100 does it usually get? Also, I’ve always been a bit confused about how the Google Adwords billing works. Do they bill you when you’ve reached your daily limit whatever day that may be? Or is it a daily billing? And if Google Adwords does bill you when you’ve reached your daily limit (i.e. $100), how many days on average does it take you to reach that limit?

2. You mentioned that you lost money in your first month doing this. Do you think by following your ebook and advice that I’ll lose money in the first month– assuming I crank out a lot of polls and keep on top of everything?

I think I’ll probably join the PPC Coach membership site you discussed in your ebook but I just wanted to ask you a couple questions first to determine how much startup money I should have to actually spend in my first month.

Thanks for your help!

Matt

58

admin 03.01.09 at 10:58 am

It’s not a daily billing.

Google won’t charge you before 30 days unless you spend $50 worth of clicks with them. The first time you reach $50, they will charge you. Then they will let you accrue $200 worth of clicks before charging you within the next 30 days. So, it’s all depending on your traffic.

I lost money when there was little knowledge in my head :-) With my guides (which I’ll send you when you join PPC Coach through my affiliate link), you should be doing better.

On my first month, I spent less than $100 on Google ads. That was basically my start up capital (other than my monthly subscription fees to PPC-Coach membership).

Other than that…it’s domain registration and hosting. Back then, I didn’t spend money on KeywordElite. I used free tools from Wordtracker and Google Keyword Tool.

No more hidden cost. Everything else is provided in the membership. Hope I’ve answered your question.

Let me know if you still need help.

59

Anthony 03.02.09 at 5:43 am

Hey,

I joined PPC-coach and had some quick questions. I want to use my own landing page instead of the landing page template they provide. But i noticed you need LSG + PPC coach tracker to make it work effectively. Is there a way to connect my custom made landing page to the PPCcoach tracker? or should I just adjust the LSG landing page to my custom made one?

Thanks

60

Steven 03.02.09 at 11:04 am

Yes, you need to use LSG + PPC Tracker.

I’ve sent you a LSG template. I use the exact template for all my polls page. That template converts at 80% for me. That’s a part of my bonus package. I suggest you use it for all your landing page.

61

Anthony 03.02.09 at 7:23 pm

Hey - I guess I didn’t see that bonus, but I got it up and running and it looks great. Thanks again.

I got another question for your, so say your running many poll campaigns on obama for instance - should I use the same keyword as my seed keyword is :”barrack obama” - I targeted to get rid of the general keywords. I was thinking of getting more keywords from google insight wordtracker etc etc. Whats your take on this?

Thanks

62

Anthony 03.02.09 at 7:24 pm

Just realized my question wasn’t as clear as it should be - i mean should i use the same keywords for all of the same related campaigns as i have the same seed keyword?

63

Steven 03.03.09 at 2:11 am

No, you can’t use the exact set of keywords for all your related campaigns.

Try to create some alternate keywords (and you can still use some of the same main keywords)

Say you want to run Obama related polls, you might do: obama, clinton, president, george bush

And another campaign with: obama, barack obama, white house, hillary clinton etc

64

Michael 03.03.09 at 2:35 am

Which CPA network do you use mostly Steve? I bought your ebook and i’m looking forward to work on it.

But i don’t feel confident with joining PPC Coaching, i have a feeling 1 month isn’t long enough to learn everything.

What do you think?

65

Anthony 03.03.09 at 2:39 am

Michael, i just wanted to tell you the membership at PPCcoach with the support of Steven - you’ll learn everything you’ll ever need. Plus it is vital to use the tools there. Steven is a mod there and knows exactly what he is talking about. I am well on my way to getting started, almost got everything ready.

Just a recommendation to you as the membership plus stevens help has helped me greately.

Hope you take my advice

66

DaKrisht 03.03.09 at 3:55 am

MICHAEL: I’m not sure why you don’t feel “confident” joining PPC-Coach - it is truly a great community. The tools themselves are worth the price of admission, you would literally have to spend hours and hours doing what you can do in 15-minutes with the tools.

Try it out for one month, you’ll learn a lot. And that’s the thing with PPC-Coach, it’s not just about 1-month, it’s about many months and years of successful PPC business - some guys on there make $2,000 a DAY — I have been running polls for 2 weeks now - I knew nothing about polls 2 weeks ago — I net $150 per day, every day and I can’t stop going forward…

67

thatdaveguy 03.03.09 at 5:18 am

wow, $150 a day already? that’s wild. good job, I just had to post that!

68

Anthony 03.03.09 at 7:51 pm

Hey

Just going through some poll ideas and was just wondering what categories should i start into, i was thinking of politics/sports as keywords for those polls seem much easier.

What do you think?

69

Steven 03.04.09 at 1:18 am

Yes, you’re right

70

benjamin 03.08.09 at 11:13 am

hi,

What is meta refresh? Is it important?

71

Steven 03.08.09 at 12:00 pm

Sending traffic through double meta refresh will remove the referrer. This way, CPA network doesn’t know where our traffic is coming from. It helps to protect networks to steal your stuff.

Though it’s good if you know how to use meta refresh, but you don’t need that to make money with poll method. I didn’t use any meta refresh when I first started.

72

benjamin 03.08.09 at 12:31 pm

Can you teach me how to use it?
And i’m new to everything. I got a wordpress, registered bigfish to get the dummy website for cpa approval. I just need to get a domain and hosting to get started.
I’m planing to join ppc-coach but its going to be a busy month for me. Is 2 hours a day enough for me to benefit from this method? As in learning the stuff and pulling off some polls.

73

Steven 03.08.09 at 1:41 pm

A few hours a day is good. Don’t expect instant money with this method though, take some time learning and roll out some polls.

DaKrisht knew nothing about polls 2 weeks ago — and now he’s netting $150 per day using PPC Coach tools. As long as you’re willing to put in some effort, this method will work for you.

74

Tenkeys 03.10.09 at 7:49 am

Congrats to DaKrisht!
May I know how much do you have to invest in (per day?) to Net USD150/day?

Just want to be careful with my budget that’s all.
Since conversion to USD is high from where I’m from.

Many Thanks!

75

Steve 03.10.09 at 8:52 pm

good stuff Steven…thank you.

One important question for me is…these tool at ppc-coach, will they work on my apple computer?

Thanks,

Steve

76

admin 03.11.09 at 1:21 am

It doesn’t matter which PC you use, they works for you.

Those script host at your hosting. They’re not desktop application, so no worry.

77

Jason 03.11.09 at 3:17 pm

ok so…. did a test poll last night… 7 adword campaigns, 1 poll, $21.47 in adwords .09 a click, =237 clicks… offer clicks=177 conversions=$58.90 LOL luck? idk i think it was a good topic… thanks steve w/ out u i couldnt do this!!!!!!

78

Putu 03.12.09 at 5:16 am

Hai Steve i’m also interested in joining the PPC-Coach after i heard what other said here.

But i have a question for you, do you register new domain for each polls that you created?

So if you run 100 polls is that means you register new domain for each polls?

Thank’s

79

Tenkeys 03.12.09 at 5:43 am

Congrats Jason! Happy to know that it works for you!
Glad that you shared your success with us. :D
I’ve just made the payment. Hope this will work well for me too.

80

admin 03.12.09 at 6:48 am

Putu, you only need one domain for all your polls.

81

johnbaem 03.12.09 at 8:31 am

hey guys,

its glad to be in here with all of you. Im taking this chances to be with steve, my fellow countrymen and i cant wait to receive my salary for allowing me to join PPC coach.

At the same time, im preparing my domain and host ready n with what id have, I probably will run the polls campaign just right on time im entering the 1st month of ppc coach. I hope i can maximize the function inside and glad being among the rest.

Steve, i cant wait to join u.. :)

82

admin 03.12.09 at 8:36 am

Johnbaem, all the best!

83

johnbaem 03.12.09 at 8:46 am

oh ya bdw steve,

lets say we are entering PPC Coach membership, does monthly subscription based on day we are entering or was it calculated on monthly basis?

84

Tom 03.12.09 at 10:40 am

It’s very nice to hear that more people having a successfull campaign.. :)

But Steven do you have any tips for choosing a good domain name?

Because i found out that finding a domain name that fits the theme is quite difficult, and for your poll does your domain name suits the theme of your poll?

85

johnbaem 03.12.09 at 11:54 am

@tom - hey bro, i do have an advise for you since i do have basic knowledge in this.

its easier for you to find domain which indicates polls inside and for any polls u do, go for subdomain..

example:
http://www.pollsbizarre.com

than your themes like obama so:
http://www.pollsbizarre.com/obamaquit.php

its cool aite? ;)

86

admin 03.12.09 at 12:17 pm

johnbaem: Membership starts from the day you join. Say you join 15th this month, your membership will renew 15th the following month.

Tom: Yes, johnbaem is right. Use generic poll related domain. You don’t have to pick theme-based domain.

87

benjamin 03.12.09 at 1:02 pm

hi,
I have a question about the campaigns.
Let’s say i have one poll. So i create a campaign with a number a adgroup with 50 keywords? Or do i create multiple campaigns for 1 poll?

And also if i get a domain like lets say fastpoll.com, why do i need the wordpress blog?

I’m kinda new at this so most of the terms are like a foreign language to me. lol.

88

Jason 03.12.09 at 2:48 pm

create multple ads for one poll… you can do 50 key words apeice… i was doing some investigation and you could even do 10-15 in like 20 ad groups…

89

admin 03.12.09 at 3:15 pm

Benjamin: You need ONE campaign with multiple adgroups.
Each adgroup there is 50 keywords.

You need a site to show CPA networks. It’s easy using WP to create a site. That’s the reason I suggest a WP blog as your main site.

90

Jason 03.12.09 at 8:13 pm

Well, good news.. got my clicks on adwords down to .03 a click! Haha nasty.. still doing well !

91

Monty Leamon 03.13.09 at 2:11 am

Steven,

I just wanted to let you know that you a real stand up guy. I picked up on your the honesty and when I first ran across this post. You are a down to earth guy that you obviously strides to provide value in your posts here on the forum.

About two days after first reading your killer stategies here, I decided to put the other projects I was working on aside and join CPA-Coach using your affilate link and give it the old “college try”. Especially since you offer 3 awesome bonuses.

One thing that stand out most about you is the fact that you offer assistance on the landing page design which, as you say, is 80% of the future success of any polling campaign.

I immediately received the bonus books as promised and even though you spell everything out in plain language, (even for a noob), I still needed help with my landing page. You took the time to help me get my site uploaded to my host account and for that I am truly grateful.

If anyone is looking for no fluff assistance, guidance and advice on CPA and polling methods, Steven is your guy. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your help and for being there in case I need you again. Keep up the good work and do continue to Give More Value!

In His Grip,
Monty

Good deal you got there Jason!
How did you do it? :P

93

Tenkeys 03.13.09 at 2:21 am

Good to hear that Monty!
I got the ebook yesterday will be “studying hard” today.
Hope to hear good news from your campaign soon.

When applying to CPA Networks, I took your suggested with the BF site. However, most of the applications ask for current traffic volume count. Did you put zero because that iz the truth?

95

Andrew 03.13.09 at 9:33 pm

I also wanted to know why LSG is better than PB2000? Can I start using PB2000 for a while?

96

Steven 03.14.09 at 1:19 am

Andrew, I’m not sure. I told them I had 1000 visitors a month and I was accepted. Though I had zero back then.

Sure, you can use PB2000. I use LSG because when I joined, PB2000 was not created yet :-)

Tom 03.14.09 at 4:09 pm

Hey, Steven

Can you show me an example of a website that will be accepted by any CPA?

Does a newly set up wordpress blog with a few contents are enough to satisfy CPA network?

Thanks

98

Steven 03.14.09 at 4:22 pm

Yes, that’s good enough.

You can set up a WordPress blog, find a theme for your blog, say NBA. Copy and paste some content off Wiki. That’s good enough to satisfy CPA network.

johnbaem 03.15.09 at 5:01 am

steven,

ive got copeac acc. It shows lot off potential stuff for promote. Some of the ringtones offer good lead. Can it be implement thru this poll stuff?

100

Steven 03.15.09 at 6:25 am

Ringtones offers are no good for polls. We’re only looking for one field submit to work with polls.

101

ben 03.15.09 at 7:26 am

hey steven, about the ‘dummy’ blog. Do i need to host it or it is just a normal blog with content from wiki?

102

Steven 03.15.09 at 8:02 am

Yes, get a poll related domain to host it.

103

ben 03.15.09 at 8:21 am

Oh i meant the blog for me to get accepted into cpa network.

104

Steven 03.15.09 at 12:26 pm

As long as it’s your own website, it could be a totally unrelated website to show them, this doesn’t matter.

When I was first started, I showed them my personal website. I’m a t-shirt graphic designer; I have personal website showing all my past work. I used that “unrelated’ site to apply to CPA networks and get approved without any problems.

I’ve written a PDF to show you the steps. Get it free: http://100adaymethod.com/cpa-passport

Matt Schieltz 03.15.09 at 2:53 pm

Hey Steven,

I’m signing up with Clickbooth and in part 3 of the app process it asks me to “Please paste a copy of your tracking pixel from your primary search engine partner.” It won’t let me submit my app without something in there. What did you put there or what should I include there?

Also, when I sign up with PPC-Coach through your referral link will you take a look at a couple of my first campaigns so I can be sure I’m doing stuff right?

Thanks,
Matt

admin 03.15.09 at 3:02 pm

1. This is what you can do:

log in to Google Adwords:
Campaign Management > Conversion Tracking > Sales Confirmation > View Action Code

copy and paste the code to them.

2. Yes, I can log in to your Adwords account making sure you’ve set up everything right. I can also take a look at your landing page before it goes “live”.

This is my PPC Coach affiliate link:

Putu 03.16.09 at 9:26 am

Steve, i’m trying to register to FluxAds, but there is an entry that ask my SS#Corp ID#ABN what is that? Is that #SS = Social Security Number ?

I don’t have any Social Security Number i’m in Indonesia. What should i fill in ?

And one more thing they ask how many visitors to my website in a month, but i just done setting up my website it is still new, so there are still no visitors yet. Is it okay if i fill it with zero ?

Thank You

108

admin 03.16.09 at 9:41 am

You can use your Indonesian tax number. Even if you don’t have one, fill in any numbers. They’re not too concern about it. They won’t cross check with your local Inland Revenue, no worry :-)

Just fill in any believable traffic. 1000 visitors a month is a good number. Though they can still check you traffic with a few online tools if they want, but I doubt they’ll do it….unless you’re trying to brag you have 1 million unique a month.

109

john 03.16.09 at 11:24 am

Steve,

Id problem with adwords. I try to use vouchers but it does not working. Im not so sure since one of my adwords using my credit card and another one id coupon which i try to use 1st $50 to start up.

Bdw, is theres is any chances i can use the coupon to minimize my cost?

110

admin 03.16.09 at 1:00 pm

I’m not sure. I have not used any Adwords coupon.

111

Tom 03.17.09 at 2:37 pm

Steven, when using adwords do you use prepay billing or postpaid? which one do you think is better?

112

admin 03.17.09 at 2:44 pm

Tom, I use postpaid. I feel postpaid is better. This is personal preferences though.

113

Tom 03.17.09 at 3:15 pm

Hey Steven until this day exactly how many polls you still running ?

114

SteveT 03.17.09 at 8:04 pm

Steve,
What is the actual pixal size of your landing page…not counting the white space?

Thanks,

SteveT

115

admin 03.18.09 at 5:01 am

Tom, I’ve 6 polls running at this moment.

SteveT, I don’t get it. May be you want to explain more :-)

116

SteveT 03.18.09 at 5:06 am

Hi Steve, what I mean is how big is the over all landing page with out the white space around it.(or any background color around it)

Like is it 300 pixel wide by 500 long…smaller, bigger?

117

admin 03.18.09 at 5:11 am

660 wide. Height doesn’t matter.

118

SteveT 03.18.09 at 5:16 am

The actual frame around the actual landing page(picture, vote yes/no buttons etc.) is 660 wide? Your image must be huge.

119

Tom 03.18.09 at 5:42 am

Only 6 polls, how much cash do you get from those polls? i thought you got 100 polls running?

120

admin 03.18.09 at 5:58 am

Tom, these are my winners. Don’t forget, I have rolled out more than 100+ polls to find these winners. Now they send me passive income daily. Each one of them net me $20-$30/day, and I’ll make $120-$180/day. Simple as that.

When any one of them are dying out, I just test out a few more polls to find another winner for replacement. Make sense to you now?

121

Jason 03.19.09 at 2:43 am

Hi guys,
Jason here.. Im 24 and I work at a Turkey farm (not for long) well here we go.
Ok… so you guys are trying to get in to poll method? Well, it won’t be easy but I can boost your confidence. I’ve been at it for a week now.. and YES I have been in profit every day for a week… I made about $30 this week.. It’s not paying the bills but its a start.. My current set up is… Just ONE poll… 1 Campaign with 6 adgroups. My current cpc is .02 cents on average.. Here are stats from today.

Clicks 410
Impressions 62,570
CTR 0.66%
Avg. CPC $0.02
Avg. CPM $0.16
Total Cost $10.10
Total Leads $12.10
I built my own poll page for this poll because I wasn’t in PPC-Coach at the time.. I just joined on teusday… The info there is awesome.. Now I am using Stevens landing page to build off of.. but I have not implemented yet since im waiting for google faces to bill me… When they do I will take it a step at a time.. 3 polls a day… Im not going to tell you my strategy but I think its original and great… If I can scale this up to 100 polls I will be making 100-300 a day EASY.. I have high expectations for me by the summer.. but these are ACTUAL results from ONE poll… And this poll will last until about april or may… thats it.. this truely works and im living proof… Thank you steven again man for helping me out … i’ve asked him about 50000 questions and he has answered them to the best of his knowledge.. thanks bud… and I will be seeing you at the top…

122

Slappy 03.19.09 at 6:19 am

Hi, i have a question for everyone,

what is addgroups? can someone explain it to me? i really don’t have a clue.

Thanks

123

admin 03.19.09 at 1:14 pm

@ Jason - I’m so glad my 5000 answers helped you :-)
It’s great to know you’re making progress. Yes, keep rolling out polls and you’ll make it. All the best!

@ Slappy - When you’re running ads with Google, you create Adgroups. Each Adgroup contain keywords for an ad campaign. You can have multiple Adgroups for each ad campaign.

124

Slappy 03.19.09 at 1:56 pm

O.K i see,

So, Steven

From the posts above, i know you are currently running 6 polls, i guess that means for each polls you create one campaign (so now you running 6 campaign) am i correct?

125

admin 03.19.09 at 1:59 pm

Yes, 6 campaigns

126

Tom 03.19.09 at 3:45 pm

Steven, for starters how many polls do you think i should run ?, let’s say if my monthly budget is $100.

127

William Gates 03.19.09 at 9:53 pm

It looks like Hydra just changed all the email submit campaigns to “email traffic only” which seems to prevent their use in our polls.

Or, is that what the double meta refresh is for?

Is it worth it to send people to a page for them to send us their email and then we send them the offer through email? Of course, we would send more than one.

128

Putu 03.20.09 at 1:54 am

Okay, i’ve just got approved by FluxAds, they do have tons of email submit offers just like you said Steven, but Stevent have you ever run any of their offer? if you have how is it going?

129

admin 03.20.09 at 5:04 am

@ Tom - To answer you question: as many polls as you can roll out.

You see, this is a number game, we’re trying to roll out as many poll as possible to find those that will make us money. Once we get a winner, it will keep sending us passive income for awhile. And we keep on looking for the 2nd, 3rd winners etc…

You don’t have to build polls for the rest of your life. You just need to find 5 winners, each of them making you $20 and it’s $100/day income. Since you know it’s a number game, you’ll be smart to use tools to automate stuff.

@ William - Yes, I don’t run Hydra email submits anymore. It seems they only want email traffic. Squeeze page technique? I haven’t done anything like that for polls. I doubt it works.

@ Putu - Yes, their email submit offers works good.

130

Andrew 03.20.09 at 10:06 am

Clickbooth (when applying) asks the following. Please suggest as I don’t understand.

Please paste a copy of your tracking pixel from your primary search engine partner:?

Please paste a link to a current query that will result in your listing:

131

admin 03.20.09 at 12:25 pm

1. This is what you can do, log in to Google Adwords:
Campaign Management > Conversion Tracking > Sales Confirmation > View Action Code. Copy the code to them.

I don’t have an answer for question two. I wasn’t required to do that. I suggest you ask them.

132

Gary Moulton 03.20.09 at 3:22 pm

Good information. Why dont you use Google search in addition to content?

Gary Moulton

133

admin 03.20.09 at 3:34 pm

1. Google Search Network clicks are just too expensive.
2. It’s hard (almost impossible)for thin-content poll Landing Page to battle with Search Network QS rules.

134

Tom 03.20.09 at 4:42 pm

Ouch, Neverblues just denied my application, i hope azoogle and convert2media will accept my application tough.

135

Putu 03.20.09 at 6:03 pm

Hey, Tom why don’t you try to apply to FluxAds and Ads4Dough, i just got accepted by them. Eventhough i said i’m still new to this affiliate kind of stuff.

I think they give more tolerance for newbies like us, because we have to start somewhere.

136

Gary Moulton 03.20.09 at 7:08 pm

Do you use placements in the google content search.

Ive two campaigns that have over 8000 impressions but only four clicks and no signups ..guess they are no good. right? Ive not used placements, just content.

Gary

137

lisa 03.20.09 at 7:23 pm

Hey Steven,

Great thread here. I admire you for answering everyone’s questions.

For me…I’m already in affiliate.com. The trouble for me is…. a lot of the times these email submits don’t track at all. I’ve had my friends at work fill in emails just to see, and yes a lot of times it doesn’t work. I’ve also read in some forums that consumersurvey, or somethin shave leads like crazy. I’m still new at CPA and I don’t know if this is the network’s problem or the actual email submit company’s problem. What do you suggest I do? I want to do the poll method and get into PPC coaching under you but unless I know that these email submits actually work for me…there’s no point =(. I appreciate your time Steven! Thank you.

138

vipervin 03.21.09 at 3:36 am

Putu– does Ads4Dough have good email submit offers? Just submitted my app with them.

139

Putu 03.21.09 at 4:02 am

Steven, when you run email submits offers from fluxads, which creative do you use? Because i don’t see any pure affiliate link only on any of their creatives.

So which affiliate link do you use the one that embedded in their email creatives, or the one in their banner creatives?

I’m confused, is it fine to only copy-paste the affiliate link from one of the creatives (email or banner) and use it as the vote link on polls that i will make?

Thank You

140

Putu 03.21.09 at 4:19 am

@vipervin : You better sign up to FluxAds they have loads of e-mail submits offer (free giftcards, free xbox, etc). Ads4Dough does have email-submits offer but only a few, but if you interested, you can try to take on their diet product, skin care product or their dating offers, they have plenty of those.

141

admin 03.21.09 at 11:07 am

@ Gary - I don’t run placement ads. I use Content Network.

@ lisa - Shaving lead is a part of the CPA business. It doesn’t happen to email submits alone. It happens to almost any pay-per-lead offers. Yes, it’s dirty….but Networks just have to do it thanks to tons of fraud leads everyday. (your friend just sent a fraud lead for you :-) ). If you’re in this business, just prepare to see a percentage of your leads get shaved, but you’ll still make a lot of money.

What I do is: I always rotate offers from different networks. that is how I minimize shaving, ask anyone who’s successful in this business, they’ll give you the same advice.

@ Putu - Yes, just copy and paste the affiliate links (email or banner). As long as the offers allow Search traffic, you can use them.

142

AJ 03.23.09 at 1:55 am

Steve,

Just wanted to say thanks!!

AJ

143

Yudi 03.23.09 at 4:05 am

Hi Steven,
Regarding shaving lead in CPA networks, you said that you always rotate the offers from different networks.
My question is how often you rotate the offers, and how many offers from different networks do you use in rotation?
Thanks

144

admin 03.23.09 at 6:18 am

@ Yudi - I rotate offer after I’ve sent 100-150 clicks to each offer.

145

Gary Moulton 03.24.09 at 8:01 pm

So far I have tried four seperate polls.. with little to no results. They cant all be that bad?? Maybe they are?? lol

Kelly Clarkson Poll on if shes getting too fat. 44,500 impressions over nine days with a total of 13 clicks and no sales. Heres the url http://pollplace.info/clarkson.htm

Another one that has not been up as long Barry Bond
three days has 11,127 impressions and a total of two clicks with no sales.

Both are on google content only.

Both ads are basically the same. The persons name
the fact its a poll, with a chance for a cruise.
Here is the ad copy.

Kelly Clarkson
1 Minute Poll-Win Bermuda Cruise
Is Kelly Clarkson Too Fat?
pollplace.info/clarkson.htm

At what point do you know you have a winner or a loser? Please give more detail. I cant see doing forty sub ids with fifty sets of keywords each on these when the first ones done sell squat.

vipervin 03.24.09 at 9:08 pm

Steve– I got a call from Hydra regarding my application. She asked me a bunch of questions, but there was one question I wasn’t sure about. She asked if I was a “Google Advertising Professional.” I just said “No” because didn’t know what that was all about. What do you think?

148

Dennis Graves 03.24.09 at 10:22 pm

I hope other people are getting a better start than me:

Polls created: 22
Impressions: 447,739
Clicks: 393
CTR: .088%
AVG CPC: 10.25 cents
Adwords Spend: $40.30
CPA Income: $6.05

So I’m currently down $34.25. I’ve lost TONS more in the stock market recently so I’m not overly worried about this little bit of money, but I was hoping to turn a profit.

Hopefully I’ll find some winners soon. I just put up 4 of the 22 in the last few hours so maybe they will turn into winners.

149

admin 03.25.09 at 12:40 am

@ vipervin - Google Advertising Professionals range from self-employed individuals specializing in search engine marketing to full service ad agencies that cover all types of media. No worry, tell them you’re not one.

@ Dennis - if you need help, send me your polls details, I’ll see if I can help to turn them into black.

150

Yudi 03.25.09 at 2:44 am

Mine is quite same as Dennis’ but lost less money

Polls created: 2
Impressions: 119,848
Clicks: 234
CTR: 0.20%
AVG CPC: 7 cents
Adwords Spend: $14.33
CPA Income: $5.10

Hopefully I will master this method soon

151

Dennis Graves 03.25.09 at 3:11 am

$16 of my loss was from a single poll that got about 170 clicks (1 conversion) before I could pause it. This poll was responsible for almost half of my total clicks. I wish the other ones were getting more clicks.

I’ve got my system down now to where I can crank out polls real quick, I guess I need to pick better topics

152

Yudi 03.25.09 at 4:46 am

Hi Steven,
Do you have any offers pattern for some topics?
For example, Walmart gift card is good for politic topics, Free Iphone is good for entertainment topics, etc..
I still have no idea about the pattern.

Thanks

153

anthony 03.25.09 at 8:20 am

Hi Steve,

Got your book, great read and i’m confident I can do this. I will join PPC Coach through your link to access all the tools as i am a complete noob! However, one small problem, I currently do not have dreamweaver to tidy up landing page. Is dreamweaver necessary????

154

admin 03.25.09 at 8:49 am

@ Yudi - I have success with gift cards and gadgets for politics polls. Gadgets works great for entertainment and sports polls too. But that’s me…what works for me might not work for everyone.

@ anthony - You can use any HTML editors. Google up “free html editors” and you’ll find some Dreamweaver alternative.

155

TheRogue 03.26.09 at 7:30 am

can we get a poll page template? It woul help me a lot and i’m sure it would help others as well

156

Yudi 03.26.09 at 7:55 am

Hi Steven,
you said that you use 1000-2000 keywords/poll.
do you put all of them into 1 ad group in campaign, or divide them into some ad groups ?
Let say, you create 5 ad groups, and put 20 keywords/ad group.

Thanks

157

admin 03.26.09 at 8:43 am

@ TheRogue - I send out a template (which converts at 80%) for those who join PPC Coach through my affiliate link.

@ Yudi - In Content Network, Google look at the first 50 keywords to determine an adgroup’s “theme”. So I use 50 keywords per adgroup.

158

TheRogue 03.26.09 at 8:44 am

i cant afford to join ppc coach at this moment :|

159

lisa 03.26.09 at 6:25 pm

hi Steven,

How much money do u put into a poll campaign as a test to see if it’s profitable? Or do u measure by clicks?

160

Andrew 03.26.09 at 9:30 pm

Just wondering…on email submit offers…if a person submits their email, gets to the next page and does NOT enter and submit their address and shipping info…do we still get paid?

161

admin 03.27.09 at 2:40 am

@ lisa - Usually I test a campaign with 30-50 clicks.

@ Andrew - Read the offer’s term. If the term says “converts on 2nd page submit”, you get paid when the second page is submitted.

162

Jes 03.27.09 at 5:35 am

Subscribed. Thanks.

163

Andrew 03.27.09 at 5:17 pm

Do you usually include in your polls email submits with terms that “converts on 2nd page submit” or “immediate” conversion offers?

164

vipervin 03.27.09 at 8:28 pm

Steven– I am trying to sign-up with Neverblue. I called their AM to get my app approved, but she was insistent on seeing an example landing page. I told her I do direct PPC marketing, straight-to-merchant, using Google Adwords to drive traffic. I also told her I have a personal website that wasn’t related to CPA, but she still wanted to see some type of landing page before she would approve me. My approval is pending right now until I can show her a landing page. Any suggestions?

165

TheRogue 03.27.09 at 8:36 pm

Come one Steve, i’m practically begging for a landing page format, u sell the method but you dont give any tools unless we sign up under your affiliate link to another site, so this is just a half of “method” and requires us to give you more money in order to gett all the tools we need… come on, a landing page is not that big of a deal, it’s not like you’r giving us the tools listed in that ppc coach forum…:-w

166

Matt 03.27.09 at 9:58 pm

@ TheRogue: actually if you join PPC-Coach under Steven’s affiliate link you get access to a whole lot more than just the landing page. The landing page is a big deal if you knew that it converts at 80%. I joined under Steven’s affiliate link this week and have had tremendous help getting everything set up. You pretty much need PPC-coach to get everything set up and for the tracking system, which is great! if you’ve read both of Steven’s books and then you join PPC-Coach you’d realize that the tools from the site are actually necessary, not to mention the personalized help that Steven offers if you join through his aff. link….

167

TheRogue 03.27.09 at 10:04 pm

Yeah..yeah…yeah.. In my opinion he should give at least the basic tools so anyone could get started, not ask for more money. I for one cant afford to join his aff link…when i bought the ebook, it wassent clear that i have to pay more money in order to implement this poll ideea, it was mentioned that is helpful not imperative. The landing page is all that i need, everything else, i’ll search on my own untill i will be able to join ppc coach. I dont think this is fair..

168

TheLoneRanger 03.28.09 at 12:03 am

@cult & @TheRogue - If you’re smart, you don’t even need the ebook in order to start the whole thing. For me $9 is to give you the basic ideas. Others would have sold you even more for the same content. But again it’s all depends on how smart we are.

I personally know how to build everything, just by subscribing to this post. And yes, I’ve started making money from it.

So you see, there’s a value in every knowledge. If you think it should be free, go and google around. That was what I did and I manage to do it myself.

I don’t think it’s wise to ask more than what Steven have offered here. He has given tips that would have cost even more.

169

admin 03.28.09 at 6:34 am

@ Gary Moulton -

1. 13 clicks and 2 clicks is too early to tell. You’ll never tell till you reach 30-50 clicks per campaign.

2. Celebrity polls don’t convert. To me, the young demographic is hard to convert. They’re too internet savvy, most of them click away too fast. I’ve great success with politics and sports. Also, on both of your landing page, your option links are too small. This lowers CTR.

3. On my ad, I only tell it’s a poll. I never reveal there is a gift waiting. In short, I don’t “lure” visitors to my landing page with gifts. This way, I’ll be able to get very targeted traffic to my landing page. When people click at my ad, they know this is a poll and they want to vote. They don’t click on my ad just because they’re expecting a free gift. This way, I save money on ad cost (as I’ve filter out tons of freebies seekers) and increase landing page CTR (click through rate) later.

@ Andrew - I only use offers that “converts on 1st page submit”

@ vipervin - have you tried setting up a dummy site to show them? If you don’t have a site and you’re too lazy to build one from scratch, there is a short cut. I’ve a little trick where you get to set up a professional website in 5 minutes. It’s simple and fast.

You download a free script, upload it to your hosting, a few clicks more and you’re done. It gives you a great site that most networks “love”. Last year, I tried this with Azoogle and I was approved in 24 hours!

For this method to work, you need to get a domain name and get it hosted. If you need this little script, download my free report “CPA Passport”, it’s there in the report.

@ TheRogue - When I first started, I didn’t have a template, a poll blueprint, a guide. Even when I joined PPC Coach membership, they didn’t even send me a proven landing page template that converts at 80-90%. I didn’t whine. I ran campaigns after campaigns to test it myself. I’ve made it through after spending $10K with Google. TheLoneRanger is right, there’s a value in every knowledge. Even if you join through my affiliate link, I’ll be handing you a lot more than what you pay for. I guess I need to be treated fair as well :-)

197.ct 03.28.09 at 7:20 pm

First, I would like to thank you for your time in answering all these questions.

I have a few questions after reading your ebook.

1. Do you have a preference between email submits and zip code submits? In other words, does one type convert better than the other?

2. If you find a poll that is profitable and making you a consistent ROI; then do try to optimize that Adwords campaign by either adding more keywords, more adgroups, further breaking down the adgroups to increase relevancy, etcetera? Or do you decide the profit is “go enough”; then move on to something else?

3. Have you ever considered collecting emails?

4. Are careful to choose offers that have no expiration date; or at least ones that won’t expire anytime soon?

171

admin 03.29.09 at 7:39 am

1. Theoretically zip submit converts better. But after running so many campaigns, my stats doesn’t proof this to be true.

2. I do try to scale up successful campaigns. But I don’t spend too much time on one. Instead, I will roll up more similar polls to the one I have success with. Example: Once I find LeBron poll works, I’ll roll out Kobe Bryant.

3. I don’t collect email. Gauher Chaudhry recommends to collect email in his book though. I’m just too lazy to test it.

4. It doesn’t matter. If the advertiser is not making money, they’ll stop an offer anyway. As long as you’re monitoring your campaign in a daily basis, don’t worry about the expiration date.

Instead, pick offers that fits your polls. I find gift cards and gadgets works well for my politics polls. So I use them.

Vicki 04.06.09 at 4:15 am

Hi Steven, I am from Singapore. Do I have to print out, sign the W-8BEN form and mail the physical form over (which will take 1 week to reach them). Or can I simply scan the signed form and send the jpg attachment over to the affiliate manager?

Will these guys call me up if I am outside US, Canada or do I need to call them instead?

Does Azoogle accept non-USA affiliates, seems to me they only accept US affiliates, or am I mistaken?

175

admin 04.06.09 at 4:29 am

Vicki, some CPA network require you to mail them the physical form. Most of them don’t. It’s good to check with individual network, they’ve different policies.

Though they’ll call us, but I took the initiative to call them direct. This way, I get approval fast.

For Azoogle, I’m not too sure if they still accept application from Singapore. I suggest you find out from them.

176

Vicki 04.06.09 at 5:16 am

Steven, I didn’t expect such a fast reply. I am impressed by the amount of information you’re giving away for free. I’ll be buying a copy of your $9 report. My main priority now is to get accepted by a few of the major affiliate networks first.

By the way, I heard that CPA affiliate networks do “lead scrubbing” whereby they do not credit a certain percentage of lead captured by affiliates (which is quite unethnical). Does this happen very often, especially for newbie CPA affiliates without a proven track record?

177

admin 04.06.09 at 3:31 pm

Vicky, I’ve answered the question in one of my post. Anyway, here is my 2 cents again:

Scrubbing lead is a part of the CPA business. It doesn’t happen to email submits alone. It happens to almost any pay-per-lead offers. Yes, it’s unethnical….but Networks just have to do it thanks to tons of fraud leads everyday. (Example: someone ask their friends to enter email for them). If you’re in CPA business, just prepare to see a percentage of your leads get scrubbed, but you’ll still make a lot of money.

What I do is: I always rotate offers from different networks. that is how I minimize scrubbing, ask anyone who’s successful in this business, they’ll give you the same advice. Hope this helps.

178

dan 04.06.09 at 10:03 pm

Steven, azoogle just approved immediately. I am going to start with an offer from neverblue because I was already with them. Never heard back from affiliate.com even tho I called them. Have my first poll site up ready to advertise this week. I copied your poll format…thank you. I will also try to get on the cpa sites you mention.

May I ask you what NET 15 or NET 30 means? I found a few different definitions using google but don’t know which is correct…

180

admin 04.07.09 at 3:37 pm

Vicki, tell you what have you found. :-)

181

Carmelita 04.07.09 at 5:17 pm

Hi Steven, are people still having success using the free script @ pnp.bigfishgames.com? Can you recommend any others? Thanks!

BTW…..very helpful info!

182

admin 04.08.09 at 1:32 am

Yes, it’s less effective now.

Since I’ve offered this method, people are using it and it seems this method is getting saturated. CPA networks notice there is too many applications with exactly same site designs. Applications don’t go through.

To stay unique, this is what you should do now:

Create a WordPress site with some PLR content on it. Buy some PLR content on niche like financial, health, education, insurance etc. CPA networks love those topic, most likely they’ll approve you. Though this cost you a little work and money, but you’ll get a unique site for CPA application.

183

Carmelita 04.08.09 at 6:07 am

Thanks Steven. It’s 1am central and I’m just getting set up with Wordpress using GoDaddy hosting.

184

Vicki 04.08.09 at 10:18 am

Net 15 means you get paid 15 days after the end of the period. The period for you is 1 month (monthly payments), so you get paid 15 days after the end of each month. So, you get paid on December 15th for November’s earnings. You’ll get paid on January 15th for December’s earnings.

Net 30 means you get paid 30 days after the end of the period. If it’s February you get paid on March 2nd for February’s earnings (28+2).

Found this information at Digital Point forum. This definition is correct, right?

185

admin 04.08.09 at 10:51 am

Net 15 - You’ll get paid on January 15th for December’s earnings.

Net 30 - You’ll get paid on January 31th for December’s earnings.

186

Vicki 04.08.09 at 11:02 am

Thanks for the clarification. I just bought and read your 45 page report. Very simple and easy to understand. Do you own PPC-coach? Will I get the same level of fast personal email support from the staff if I join the coaching program today?

I don’t own PPC Coach, I’m one of the “senior member” there. :-)

There is 2 full time coach and a few other assistant coaches to help you out. They’re very supportive, so no worry.

andrew 04.08.09 at 9:35 pm

Hi Steven,

Do you create and run just one ad per created poll, or do you create and run 2,3, or even more ads per created poll to see what converts?

189

andrew 04.08.09 at 9:39 pm

I don’t see how there is any way we can put exact keywords into the headlines, titles, and content of the landing page, although I know this is good for google QS? Just checking.

190

admin 04.09.09 at 2:14 am

Andrew, I run one ad per poll. Though you can split test with 2 ads, but I’m just too lazy to do it. :-)

6) A link to another site that’s trusted and important.

You have a site for your offer. You just plug in your seed keywords. It creates a bunch of RSS feeds populated by your seed keyword.

191

andrew 04.09.09 at 4:07 am

RE: “1) Keyword in ad headline, body.
2) Keyword in prominent positions on the landing page (title, h1, h2, body text, link text).”

How is this possible when we have 1500 keywords or more. Wouldn’t we have to make a different landing page for each keyword?

192

admin 04.09.09 at 8:08 am

For Obama related polls, I only use “Obama” as the only keyword in title, h1, h2. QS is not too important for Content Network. So, you don’t have to pay much attention to keyword in your LP. As long as the seed keyword is there, you’re done.

193

Jose 04.11.09 at 4:35 pm

I got today an email from BuzzDash stating that they are winding down their site because lack of funding. Have you heard about this? and if so, would you have another recommendation as source of poll ideas?
thanks for your comments

Jose, I didn’t register with them so I’m not aware of them winding down. Looks like we’ve to find other source now. :-)

Hi
I tried baby diaper niche. i sent 12 clicks and got 2 converted into lead. Whats my problem is.. i dont know how to create a good landing page (i am a php / sap.net programmer :) ) and how to deal with google slap.

i tried to get visitors using the same keyword (diaper). i got plenty of impression but only few clicks.

will you please tell me / show me a few good keywords / google ad for that diaper niche.

thanks

197

Brooks 04.13.09 at 4:12 pm

Great information.

198

admin 04.13.09 at 4:21 pm

Rajesh, 16% email submit conversion is awesome!

On ad CTR: If you’re getting something like 0.25%-0.5% CTR in Content Network, you’re doing a great job. Say you’re getting 1000 impression and 2.5- 5 clicks to your ad, you’re doing good. Content Network is different from Search Network where you’re looking at much higher CTR.

I haven’t done any “diaper” related campaign, obviously I have nothing “diaper” related LP/ad/keywords to show you. :-)

199

rajesh 04.13.09 at 5:32 pm

ben 04.13.09 at 6:23 pm

hey steven,

If I wanna create a website with some PLR content on it, how much is sufficient?

And another question is what are the CPA looking for from the website? Why do we need the website?

201

Brooks 04.13.09 at 7:58 pm

Hi Steven, if I understand, I will need a new domain name and a new blog for each campaign. Is that true.
Please advise.
Thanks
Brooks

202

Don 04.13.09 at 9:42 pm

Steven,
I want to get my first website up and running to submit to the ad agencies for approval. Then I want to go ahead and submit some polls and start promoting offers. I know that you had a simple script that would build a very simple website for the purpose of getting approved. Would you be so kind as to give me that script either through email or posting here on your blog?

203

admin 04.14.09 at 3:42 am

@ Rajesh- No problem. I’m glad to help.

@ Ben- There is no fixed rules as to how much content is good. Roll out a WordPress blog with 20-30 post with your PLR content. I think that’s good enough. If you’ve more content, keep adding into your blog. You can stop at 40-50 post per blog. To me, 50 posts is more than enough to impress most CPA network.

Buy some PLR content on niche like financial, health, education, insurance etc. Why they need a website? Most CPA offers are in niches like financial, health, dating, education etc. So if your site attract audience in the same niche, you’ll be able to monetize CPA offers with your traffic.

@ Brooks- You only need one domain for all your campaigns. Go register a poll related domain and use it for all your polls.

@ Don- Here is the script

1.Sign up at https://pnp.bigfishgames.com

2.After you’ve signed up, go here: https://pnp.bigfishgames.com/content/xml.php?page=sgs

3.Download Satellite Gamesite System v0.7

4.Unpack it on your server, and run install.php

3.You’re done. You now have a nice, content filled site to show the networks.

204

andrew 04.14.09 at 10:44 am

1) When you say you have 100 polls, do you mean you have 100 successful polls running at the same time to earn $100 plus per day. For example, you tested let’s say 1000 polls to find 100 successful ones?

2) For polls, do you split adgroups into 50 keywords using ppc coach tool or do you make adgroups smaller? If smaller, how small and what tool do you use?

205

admin 04.14.09 at 2:06 pm

@ Andrew-

1. I don’t need 100 winners (successful poll) to make $100/day. Each winner makes me around $20-$30/day. I only need around 3-5 winners to give $100/day profit.

Yes, I’ve rolled out 100+ polls. I made lots of mistakes when I started out. Also, over the time, some of my winners die out when the buzz is over. Make sense to you now?

2, Yes, I use PPC Coach tool to split keywords into 50kw/adgroup. That’s the only tool I use.

206

Arien 04.14.09 at 5:12 pm

Steven -

I’m working through the process of getting accepted to the decent affiliate networks. I’ve set up a site with some content, bitgrind, and submitted my app to a couple of networks (affiliate.com, hydra).

Should I be waiting for their interview call, or would you suggest calling the ‘help’ number they provide in the response email?

207

admin 04.15.09 at 2:23 am

Yes, get their number and call them. Don’t wait for their call. By the way, I like your site. :-)

Good luck.

208

Vicki 04.15.09 at 3:34 pm

Hi Steven, I submitted my application to a dozen of sites but so far only got approved by Wotogepa and MaxBounty, and got rejected by ClickBooth (twice).

I was disappointed that Wotogepa only offer cheque payment, which means I probably won’t promote them. Can you recommend a list of credible CPA networks that offers either Paypal or International Wired Transfer?

This will be very helpful for us newbies.

209

dan 04.15.09 at 3:49 pm

Steven I’ve rolled out about ten polls now using your methods, but I cannot get them to be profitable. I get clicks, and sales, but I am paying more on google content for the clicks than I get in profits. How do I make my polls profitable? Dan

210

dan 04.15.09 at 3:53 pm

By the way I have taken in about $150 in revenue, and spent about $350 on google content clicks. So I am glad I know how to get traffic and revenue, but all my polls are unprofitable. I need some advice, what should I look at doing? thanks.

211

Brooks 04.16.09 at 4:27 am

Steven, you said you used Keyword Elite and took all 2000 keywords then broke them down in groups of 50. I set KWE for 2000 and most had nothing to do with my base keyword. Do I have to set it at 4000 and then go through and delete the bad one?

212

admin 04.16.09 at 5:20 am

@ Vicky - Sure, here is a list I recommend.

Affiliate.com
Azoogle
CX Digital
CanadianSponsors
Clickbooth
Copeac
Neverblues
Hydra
FluxAds
OurFreeStuff
Pepperjam
XY7
Max Bounty
Rocket Profit
Primary Ads
ClixGalore

@ dan - I need some stats to help you. Post the following details here, I’ll take a look and get back to you.

1. Show me your landing page
2. Google stats
3. CPA network stats
4. Google ad copy
5. your offers

@ Brooks - Use a negative keyword list to weed out the untargeted kw. Here is a list you can use:

erotic
intimate
jpeg
jpg
lust
naked
nude
sex
sexy
free
info
help
complimentary
trial
information
sex
porn
porno
xxx
pron
freebie
sample
download
image
Customer Service
Support
Tech Support
phone number
fax number
defective
fraud
scam

Once you start a new project, go to “Report View” > “Remove phrases containing”. Copy and paste the list into the box. That’s it.

No, you don’t have to set it to 4000. For certain niche, you just can’t get 2000 kw. Some times, I use 1000 keywords. There is no fixed rules. It’s all depending on your niche.

Hey Steven,

I got your Poll method, and its packed with enough info to get started. But this mini forum is awesome. You’ve answered any questions I could think of.

I’m signing up for PPC Coach through your link.

Actually, One question on the website/blog creation/approval process… Do you know if the cpa networks check out your site’s source code when approving you?

Thanks

hi steven
I notice on your sample at the top of this site, you use a picture of obama.
With the likes of getty images etc being pretty hot on “borrowed” images, what do you do?
1. do you go ahead and borrow and worry about it later
2. or do you pay for these images.

i am not the law…. just interested in your take on this issue. I have been growled at before by getty images. Nothing came of it though :-)

Quick question, any insight on Market Leverage network? Is it worth it? Have you used them?

Thanks

Yeah, that was my concern. I’ve downloaded Wordpress, bought some PLR material, and will go the ’safe’ route.

Thanks PollDude.

LamontT 04.17.09 at 1:45 am

Hi Steven,
I purchased your offer for the $9 ebook, and also I am registered with ppc coach as well. All the info given is very helpful, but alot. I’m a jump in and do it type of guy, so I put 50 in a adwords account and ran 2 polls. I have a few questions.
I’m far from an expert in adwords and still confused on some things.
1. My impressions jumped up quickly when starting out as well as clicks. Is it any kind of real time statistics within adwords? It seemed to only update after certain time intervals.
2. Also, what should we really watch when dropping the Max CPC rate? I started at .20, changed it to .13 after it jumped to over 4000 impressions but my Average CPC never changed below .13. Should I have contiued to dropped my max cpc anyway?

I spent $44 but earned $14..but I’m optimistic being that I made alot of other mistakes learned by trial and error and was just trying to play around to figure some things out.

Thanks for all the help and assistance you give!

219

admin 04.17.09 at 3:59 am

@ Daniel - I use Google image to find what I want.

I’m sure it’s a breach of copyright or something, but if I get a cease and desist letter from someone, I’ll pull the image and change it with image from some other site.

But the chances of this happening are pretty slim (so far, this has never happened to me).

@ AJ - I’m not with ML network. So…I can’t comment.

@ LamontT - Great to know you’re taking action!

1. Yes, Adwords stats update around 15-30 minutes.

2. Yes, continue to lower it down to around 0.10. But don’t do it more than 3 times in every 24 hours. Else, you run the risk of loosing the campaign.

220

Arien 04.17.09 at 5:42 am

Steven - How do the networks know whether your traffic comes from email or from a site?

@Conrad - I recently went that route. It’s a little work, but the learning is worthwhile. Just a note on PLR, don’t get the $5 stuff…you won’t be fooling anyone. I paid a little extra at niche-content-packages.com and got content I’d be confident in posting on a site that Steven recommends building.

221

conrad 04.17.09 at 1:10 pm

Lamont, What’s your CTR?

Conrad

222

admin 04.17.09 at 1:52 pm

@ Arien - They track traffic source by affiliate links. Affiliates are required to use different links for email marketing and banner ads.

223

LamontT 04.17.09 at 3:28 pm

Conrad,
These are my combined stats for the 3 days I was active for two different polls:

Clicks 353
Impressions 406,868
CTR 0.09%
Avg. CPC $0.13
Avg. CPM $0.11
Total Cost $44.98

I only made $12.40 with 10 leads…from 289 impressions.

The best offer had 4 leads from 72 clicks, but my aff manager told me it was to be taken down so I just stopped all campaigns until I can get signed up with more companies and get other things done.

Interestingly enough, I didn’t sign up with the offers that had the most leads. I guess I got the links all screwed up.

This was all new and moving fast when I did it so I’m still optimistic.

224

conrad 04.17.09 at 5:49 pm

Thanks Lamont,

I guess I wasn’t clear on my question.

What was the CTR of your AD? That is, how many leads did you send to the merchant (how many people voted)?

Then you can figure out if it’s your Ad’s CTR or the offer’s conversion rate that is the prob.

Did you have to pull the ad down because it was a poll? If so, what affiliate program was that?

Thanks
Conrad

Arien 04.17.09 at 6:24 pm

My newbie-ness will really show now:

In my network campaigns, I have links for banners, html email and html text (each has a code for a particular creative). I also have a raw affiliate tracking URL (with no code related to a particular creative).

Which do I use with my polls?

If I use the raw affiliate tracking URL (with no creative code), will my advertisers get upset?

226

I did the bidding strategy starting at .20 and slowly lowering it. The result is negative $30. This negative ratio I am experiencing is the same across all my email submit campaigns. So, what would you do to make this profitable?? thanks, Dan

229

AJ 04.18.09 at 1:44 am

LamontT,

Quick question, what affiliate are you using?

Thanks.
AJ

230

Arien 04.18.09 at 3:24 am

@Conrad - on my site is their real estate investing pack, edited heavily by me.

Their starting content is pretty good. However, I did a search using the first paragraph of a few of the articles, and found others using it unmodified. Google apparently gives you a lower rating if you have content duplicated elsewhere, so I edit them heavily. Google needs to see at least a 30% difference between articles to consider them to be different.

I write, review, and edit a lot for a living, so I’m pretty good at it. I use notepad, because it doesn’t add any control characters. If you want some guidance on modifying articles, check out wordflood. On the other hand, if you simply put the articles in your own words, you’ll have something unique (this is basically what I do).

231

LamontT 04.18.09 at 3:31 am

Conrad & AJ,
I was using affiliate.com. They received 289 impressions on their ads, and received 10 leads. This was all from 353 clicks out of adwords.

Just to be clear…they didn’t tell me to take my poll down or that anything was wrong on my end. My aff manager just sent me a list of all offers ending the next day and the most profitable one for me was on that list…meaning it expired. Interestingly enough…I didn’t intentionally sign up for it anyway. I just blame my newbie experience more than anything.

232

admin 04.18.09 at 4:26 am

@ Arien - I use banner & html affiliate links for polls.

“Scrubbing” means advertiser/network stop crediting you leads. Scrubbing is part of CPA business thanks to fault leads. It doesn’t happen to email submit offers only. Scrubbing happens to other multi-field offers too.

If a CPA network does not scrub, then they might not be in business long. You will get scrubbed if your visitors who enter their email addresses stop converting at an acceptable rate for the advertiser.

Best tip to counter scrub - rotate offers through your polls. Don’t send hundreds of traffic to just one offer. This is what I do: I send about 100-150 clicks to one offer and then I rotate. Though you can do it by hand, but it’s high maintainace. I use PPC Coach Tracker/Rotator script to automate the process.

“No scrub” means, they’re offering you an email submit offer that never get scrub. I doubt it. To me, all offers get scrub to a certain extent.

@ dan -

1. Politics demo don’t like Bahamas cruise. I have better luck with gift cards and gadgets.

2. You’ve sent too many clicks to one offer. I suggest you only send 100-150 clicks to one offer to minimize scrub.

3. Place your affiliate link behind the picture. This will increase LP CTR.

4. Lower your CPC to 0.10. You bid too high. I never bid more than 0.10 to make profit. Most of my profitable campaigns bids around 0.07-0.06

5. Your ad CTR and your LP CTR is good. Once you get the right offer, lower your bid, you should be good to make profit.

i would like to thank you for your great tips. last day i started one poll (my third poll0 and got plenty of clicks and got 100%+ as profit.

but as i am in only one CPA network i paused the campaign :(. nobody is accepting me into their CPA network. also i dont know how to use ppc-coach tracking script. so i am using my own.

anyway thanks for your tips :)

Arien 04.18.09 at 4:58 am

Steven - great response…I need one final follow up question regarding the link to use.

It sounds like you’re saying to **not** use the raw affiliate tracking URL (the one without the code that identifies the creative), and instead, get the HTML for a banner, and copy out tracking URL out of that and use that as the landing page for my poll…is this correct?

My apologies for being dense on this…I did a fair amount of work getting into this network and I don’t want to blow it.

admin 04.18.09 at 4:15 pm

@ Rajesh - If you need someone to install PPC Coach Tracker for you, there is one talented PPC Coach member who can get those script installed for you. He’s Andrew (aka businesspeanuts).

Go here to send him a pm:
http://www.ppc-coach.com/members-only/ppc-coach-forums/showthread.php?t=4053

Tell him I send you, and he’ll give you a special price. I don’t make a dime from referral. I’m just trying to help.

Anyway, if you watch the videos multiple time and seek help in the forum, you don’t need to outsource the job. Hope this helps.

@ Arien - I’m not sure what is a “raw” link. I always use a banner link. You can use any affiliate link without appending subid. It still work, you just can’t track stuff. That’s all.

236

conrad 04.18.09 at 6:47 pm

@Steven - I THINK Arien is referring to a non-banner or email link when she says, “raw”.

@Arien - Pls correct the above statement if I misunderstood you. As I see it, you should use this ‘raw’ URL, because, according to Steven, “Affiliates are required to use different links for email marketing and banner ads.”
You should be able to append a tracking Id to this raw URL also.

237

conrad 04.18.09 at 7:29 pm

@Steven You mentioned “I use banner & html affiliate links for polls.” When would you use a banner link? Do you use banners as ads that drive traffic to the polls? Or are these banners on websites/blogs that are not associated with polls?

Also, affiliates.com wants to know my monthly traffic, but my website is fairly new. Do I admit little traffic, and simply explain that I plan on using direct linking at first?

Thanks
Conrad

Bryan Lazaroff 04.18.09 at 8:45 pm

Steven,

When you talk about lowering your bids by .01-.03 3x/day after 1000 impressions, do you mean the amount of impressions on the total campaign or when each adgroup get a 1000?

Also.. When you put up a campaign and it is sitting there with zero impressions after 1 full day, do you up your bid from the initial .20? It doesn’t look like it’s flagged or anything from Google.

Bryan

239

admin 04.19.09 at 2:54 am

@ Conrad - I just copy the affiliate link under banner creatives. I use it behind my polls option links. I don’t use any banner ads. Sorry for the confusion. :-)

@ Bryan - I look at impressions on campaign level. I don’t up my bid no matter what happen. If it’s not giving any impression, I’ll just drop the campaign.

240

Arien 04.19.09 at 5:37 am

@Conrad - that’s correct…thank you for pressing the question :-)

@Steven - With your recent response to Conrad, my questions are answered. Now I know what link to use :-)

dan 04.19.09 at 12:08 pm

Hi Steven, thanks for the great advice. Two followups:
1. I do not know how to make an image into a link. No html here! Is that something they can teach me in ppc coach?
2. You say switch offers after 100 clicks, but I find that Google is not that precise. For example, on the campaign you looked at, I showed 0 clicks for about 2 hours, then boom, several hundred clicks. It’s not like google counts slowly one to 100 clicks. So, how do you time this and stop it at 100 clicks without precise info from Google? Does the program you use from ppc coach do that for you automatically? Many thanks, Dan

242

admin 04.19.09 at 12:55 pm

dan,

1. That’s simple if you know just a little html. :-) PPC Coach Landing Site Generator will set that up for you though.

2. When I said “100 clicks”, I refer to “clicks on email submit page”. Not Google ads clicks. Even PPC Coach script don’t auto detect those clicks for you. But it’s much easy to monitor as clicks on offer page is much lower than ad clicks. Make sense to you now?

243

Arien 04.19.09 at 3:24 pm

Any thoughts on a relatively inexpensive keyword generator tool? Keyword Elite looks nice, but a little steep given my first foray into PPC.

244

conrad 04.19.09 at 5:03 pm

@Steven,

Just signed up for PPC coach. I look forward to seeing you on the other side.

While I’m here, one quick question…

What does “Place your affiliate link behind the picture.” mean? Associate the affiliate link to the picture?

245

dan 04.20.09 at 12:01 am

Hi Steven,
Looking at my campaign, then, I got 356 clicks on my google ad, 240 clicks on the affiliate links on the landing page and 15 conversions…people filling in their email. Are you saying to watch the affilate link stats, the 240 and switch offers when that gets around 100? I think I get it if that’s what you mean. Thanks, Dan

246

admin 04.20.09 at 2:41 am

@ Arien - Try Wordze, it’s a paid service though. They have a day trial at $7.95 so it’s low risk to find out if you like it. I didn’t use them because they’re a paid subscription service. Also, I’ve already have KE with me.

@ conrad - Welcome aboard! I’ve shot my bonus over. The answer to your question is: YES. :-)

@ dan - If you’re not rotate offer, yes, you’re right. Another way of doing it is: check your CPA network stat. Network stat will register clicks on each email submit page.

247

Andrew 04.20.09 at 3:48 pm

Steven,

I am running my first poll and I have 46,000 impressions on content nextwork and 1 click. It’s been running for almost a day.
How long does a successful poll take usually take to get clicks? When do I ditch this poll?

248

admin 04.20.09 at 4:02 pm

It depends. From a few hours to days.

249

Don 04.20.09 at 9:51 pm

Can you help me analyze what’s wrong?

http://researchpolls.net/susan-boyle/

Clicks: 210
Click thrus: 78
Conversions: 7
$8 profit, $27 ad spend

This isn’t my first campaign. All 7 of my polls so far have failed miserably. All profited, however not enough. My other campaigns got 80% click thru for the obama, bush, political ones, but this one I’m not too sure.

250

LamontT 04.21.09 at 1:09 am

Yay! Today I broke even! I’ve spent around $40 dollars and made the same amount in offers. Unfortunately, I’m between paychecks so I have to pause my campaigns until I get funds in my account.

When pausing a campaign like this, do I have to start my bid high again at .20 per click when I get it going again? Whats the reason for starting so high and having to move it down? I paid for alot of high clicks early on and had to reduce my bids eventually to .07 max cpc to get it caught up. To bad I can’t let it run, I could have probably made a profit.

251

admin 04.21.09 at 3:06 am

@ Don - Your landing page looks good to me.

You might want to change the option links to text link: “Click here for Yes/ Click here for No”. My experience shows text links command higher CTR than buttons.

Also, link your picture to offer. Definitely increase CTR. If you’ve done all and still no good, it’s your keyword list. You must have some untargetted kw list. Those traffic won’t convert no matter what you do.

@ LamontT - Yes, pausing a campaign too long (days) you need to start all over again. When you run the same campaign again, increase CPC to 0.20 again and slowly bid down like what you’ve done. The reason: you don’t want others (if any) to out bid you.

252

Vicki 04.21.09 at 5:40 am

Hi Steven, I been filling out the W8 form, and I come across this term:

The beneficial owner is a resident of ________ within the meaning of the income tax treaty between the United States and that country.

I’m from Singapore and is not required to pay U.S. tax, should I tick this box or leave it blank?

(What does ‘within the meaning of the income tax treaty between tax treaty between the United States and that country’ mean exactly? Is it implying that I need to pay tax?)

253

admin 04.21.09 at 1:20 pm

Yes, you need this. Fill in “Singapore” in the field.

Honestly, I’ve no answer to your second question. You might want to consult your local lawyer on this.

254

Diana 04.21.09 at 2:55 pm

Hi Steven,

When you say you have 5-6 winners in rotation, what is the rotation cycle?

Is it on 1 day - off 1 day OR ???

Also, when I try to post, it always asks for my email and then it never gets added to all the other post. I have tried posting without email and it will not let me.

255

admin 04.21.09 at 3:10 pm

Diana, my winners are not in “rotation”, you must have miss interpreted me. :-)

They’re all live campaigns. They’re not in “rotation”.

Yes, we need your email address so that you’ll get e-mail notification of further comments of our discussion on this page. You will be able to stay engaged in the dialog without having to check back for new post constantly.

256

Andrew 04.21.09 at 3:11 pm

1) How many impressions and/or clicks do you wait for before you lower bids?

2) After how many clicks and no sales do you shut off campaign or adgroup?

257

Diana 04.21.09 at 3:40 pm

Hi Steven,

Earlier in the post, you state that after you recieve 100-150 clicks to a poll, rotate them so them so you are under the radar of the networks.

What then do you mean by rotating?

Do you turn them off and wait while you go to others?

258

Diana 04.21.09 at 4:09 pm

Steven, thanks for all the info.

In your manual, you talk about “Keyword Elite”.

Because this is a purchased product, is there something compatable that you will recomment that we can use until we have the funds to purchase Keyword Elite?

259

Bryan Lazaroff 04.21.09 at 4:23 pm

Steven,

In terms of advertising on other networks such as MSN & Yahoo, do you wait until you see a profit with Google first, then put them on the others or do you do them all right away?

260

admin 04.21.09 at 4:31 pm

@ Andrew - Wait till 1000 impression before lowering bids. I ditch a bad campaign when either of these happens:

1. I’m $15 in the hole
2. After 100 clicks to email submit page and I still loose money
3. After 30 clicks to email submit page and still no leads.
4. Rotate more than 10 offers, still no conversion

@ Diana - “Rotate” means switch your email submit offer. Say you’ve sent 100 clicks to a Walmart Gift Card Offer, now send your traffic to a McDonald’s Gift Card.

If you’re short of fund, I recommend free keyword tool from Google. It’s here:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

261

admin 04.21.09 at 4:36 pm

@ Bryan - I only run my poll campaigns with Google Content Network.

262

Don 04.21.09 at 6:02 pm

I did what you said, and it lowered the click thru to 38% and the conversion rate to 4%.

The keywords are targeted b/c I’m only using 50 of them. All US traffic.

So, what could the problem be? Here was the ad:
Is Susan Boyle a Star?
Susan Boyle vs Elaine Paige
1 Minute Poll

Potential things that could have gone wrong:
1) bad landing page
2) bad offer
3) bad ad
4) bad keywords
5) just doesn’t work

I doubt it’s #1, #3, #4.

But I’ve made polls for a variety of topics now and none of them worked.

263

andrew 04.22.09 at 1:58 am

Do you do any things like adding negative keywords or any other cool tweaks inside google adwords?

264

Diana 04.22.09 at 2:06 am

In your 45 page manual, you give a sample landing page. At the very top in the title you say something about “getting a chance at a gift card for voting”.

Isn’t this an incentive? (or bribe)?

We tell the networks we do not use incentives.

How can this work without the networks stopping us?

265

Diana 04.22.09 at 4:32 am

hi, steven

Is this against the CPA offer? If it is could you please should me how to hidden the keyword or traffic source. Thank you

267

sam 04.22.09 at 7:11 am

hey steven,

Can u recommend a host for the big fish game site? I can’t find a cheap one which can support the SGUI file..

thanks

268

admin 04.22.09 at 3:20 pm

@ Don - Yes, like you said, it could be your offer or the poll just doesn’t work.

@ Andrew - Yes, I’ve a negative keyword list. Also, I exclude a long list of web 2.0 sites in Adwords. Traffic from sites like MySpace just won’t convert. You need to exclude them for every one of your campaign.

@ Diana - I’ve answered this question a couple of times. The poll method would be considered NOT INCENTIVISED. So you won’t get in trouble promoting offers that do not allow incentives.

Hey, welcome to the inner circle.

@ Hmong - Poll method does NOT against network terms. Let me show you examples of banner ads provided by Affiliate.com - they’re polls. :-)

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo251/ppcc2008/coke-pepsi-poll.gif

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo251/ppcc2008/obama-poll.gif

Ask yourself, if poll is against their terms, why are they still offer polls related banner ads?

@ Sam - I recommend Hostgator. It’s cheaper than Liquidweb.

269

andrew 04.22.09 at 3:26 pm

When analyzing performance, what adgroup CTR do you delete? .02,.04, …?

what is you technique for entering negatice keywords? How do you exactly decide?

270

andrew 04.22.09 at 3:28 pm

Do you rotate ads equally or select optimize inside adwords?

Do you use accelerated or standard?

271

Bryan Lazaroff 04.22.09 at 5:15 pm

When you say email submit gift cards have proven good for you in politics, do you see any difference between $50, $100, $200, $250, $500 and $1000?

I would think that $50-$100 are more believable and would create a better response. I have been using $500 one’s and I don’t think they are doing well.

btw… I got accepted to ourfreestuff.now (now it’s AdJump), affiliate.com, clickbooth, flux adv, bidvetiser, and xy7.com. Already on with Wotogepa being a ppc-coach member..
I followed your approach and it worked perfectly..

I did get denied by revenueloop & copeac but I called and left messages. Do you think I should bother with them since I am a part of the others?

272

Bryan Lazaroff 04.22.09 at 5:23 pm

Sorry so many questions..

Have you ever tried having comments set to open, below your poll? I was thinking that might create more participation.

273

conrad 04.23.09 at 5:50 pm

Hey Steven,

Concerning your scrubbing comment “You will get scrubbed if your visitors who enter their email addresses stop converting at an acceptable rate for the advertiser.”

1. How quick can the advertiser tell that your email conversions are not converting for them? I see a gift card offer where, the customer (after entering their email) must participate in other ‘offers’. In this case, I guess the advertiser knows pretty quick if our submits are converting.

2. Is this typical? Is this why our submits can get scrubbed after only a day or two?

3. Are you ever scrubbed right away without any conversion history on the offer?

4. Do networks AND advertisers scrub?

Thanks Steven

Conrad

John 04.23.09 at 7:32 pm

Hi Steven.

Bought your book, great info and great value.

Im stuck on a couple of things.

1, how do you extract your affil link from the Neverblue code? or do you use the full code?

2, I cant seem to find a email submit space in the main ads, when it says click here for the chance to win a free iphone it opens up another ad where you have to sign up for a free sample of something totaly unrelated to an iphone, wh is this?

Thanks
John

275

admin 04.24.09 at 5:32 am

@ Andrew -

1. I delete adgroup with CTR between 0.05 - 0.1%

2. I rotate ads equally. Use “standard”.

@ Bryan - Gift Card amount is not important, instead you should monitor the “brands”. I find some brands converts better than the other. Yes, I suggest you give them a call to get accepted into Revenueloop and Copeac. I didn’t try your idea, so it’s hard for me to comment.

@ Conrad - As long as the email submit term indicate the offer “pay on first page submit”, affiliates get paid once the visitor enter their email. Whether or not the visitor proceed with the next step, it doesn’t matter…to us.

No, I don’t get scrub right away. As long as you are sending not more than 100-150 clicks to one offer/day, you’re fine.

@ John -

1. Just copy the entire affiliate link.

2. That’s because advertiser is trying to sell more stuff. As long as the email submit term indicate the offer “pay on first page submit”, affiliates get paid once the visitor enter their email. Whether or not the visitor proceed with the next step, it doesn’t matter. For every email submit offer, there is a “term”, read the term, only promote those pay on 1st page submit.

Joanne 05.01.09 at 10:36 am

Hi Steven,

Really great information and great blog you have here. I have a couple of questions:

1) Regarding the double meta refresh (dmr) - I’ve got a program that will automatically code and rotate dmr links for me (because I’m not great with coding). I am used to putting the dmr links to work, but I can’t work out how to add tracking etc. I’m already a member of ppc coach (so bummer missed out on your bonuses!). How do you incorporate dmr links into the ppc tracking page? Do you just replace the rotated links with dmr links? Does this affect the tracking? Sorry if this is confusing, but no one is able to explain to me how to use any kind of tracking with dmr links. I’ve got to use dmr links because I’ve always used them with my cpa networks and to not use them now would look suspicious.

2) You say to set the daily budget at a minimum of $100 if you can afford it. But the daily budget is per campaign. If I am setting up 5 campaigns/polls a day can I get away with $20 per campaign? Google constantly goes over my daily budget in my search campaigns and I’m worried about the content campaigns doing the same.

Thanks for putting up with the difficult questions!

278

197.ct 05.01.09 at 4:09 pm

Please clarify how you rotate offers. Correct me if I am wrong, didn’t you say that you rotate offers after 100 click through from your Adwords landing page to your affiliate CPA offer?

I interpret that as meaning that your Adwords landing page remains constant. Then you use a rotation script to change what specific CPA offer a visitor is presented once they click the voting link of your site.

Is this a correct interpretation thus for?

On this example landing page (http://100adaymethod.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/obama-poll.gif), the headline tells the visitor what they get after they vote. Specifically, it reads: “Get a Chance at a $50 McDonald’s Gift Card for voting”.

It occurred, the me that the landing page’s headline would have to change to match the offer. It would be silly and misleading, to the visitor ,to promise a “MacDonald’s Gift Card” on the landing page; but the CPA rotation scripts presents an unrelated CPA once they click through.

Do also rotate the landing pages headline to match the CPA offer?

279

admin 05.01.09 at 5:02 pm

@ Joanne -

1. PPC Coach has shown members how to use meta refresh with Tracker. Since you’re already a member, check it out here:
http://www.ppc-coach.com/members-only/ppc-coach-forums/showthread.php?t=6773&highlight=hide+landing+pages

2. Yes, the daily budget is meant for each campaign. It’s $100 per day/campaign. Since we’re bidding down a few times per day, the traffic is not as heavy as you would expect. Moreover, you’ll still get to delete campaigns everyday. No worry, most of the time you won’t hit your $100 limit. Not even near.

@ CT -

If you’re in many networks, you’ll find similar offers from each of them. Just rotate the same offer from different networks. (this is when you’ve a proven offer).

But if you’re still testing a few different offers, just don’t place a specific prize. Make sense?

280

Neil 05.05.09 at 11:47 pm

Hi Steven,
When applying to CPA networks, you suggested to have a Wordpress Blog with content on it, such as NBA. But if you have a poll-related domain (example: fastpoll.com), won’t they realize that your blog content has nothing to do with your domain name, and potentially reject you?

281

admin 05.06.09 at 1:21 am

Apply with a non-poll site. :-)

282

Sowemimo Oladele 05.08.09 at 10:14 am

Hello Steeve,

First, thanks for your trainings, it has been of a great advantage that i found it.

However, I tried applying to 4 CPA network and I was denied (cx digital media, fluxads, copeac and affiliate.com). The only thing I taught why they rejected me could either be my website or the country I am from i.e “www.holidaysandcashnigeria.com, http://www.casioexilimcamera.com” “Nigeria” respectively.

Please, can you help me check my websites to see if it’s Ok or Not.

Thanks in advance.

283

admin 05.08.09 at 12:20 pm

Sowemimo, you don’t have enough content on your sites. There are tons of PLR content around, just Google them up. Place more content on your site and you should be good.

284

beagle 05.11.09 at 8:54 pm

Hi Steven — thanks so much for your ebook, it has been very helpful. I have been experimenting with polls following your system. So far I am running about even, with about $200 earned in conversions on about $200 spent in AdWords. I am still trying to find the tweaks to lower the AdWords costs so I can get into the black.

I’d like to hear your thoughts about setting up site exclusions in AdWords. Looking at my site traffic logs, I see that a TON of clicks are coming via YouTube, but almost none of these convert. It seems like youtube traffic is very poor quality, so I have now setup exclusions for youtube (”video” category in exclusions tab).

Do you exclude youtube, and could you share any other categories/sites you exclude due to poor quality traffic that generates too many clicks?

thanks!

WOW what an amazing thread! I will be signing up for PPC coach under your link tomorrow. I purchased your book yesterday and just printed it up and I am going to read it tonight.

Trish Oleary 05.13.09 at 2:13 am

Does Wotogepa have the email submit offers to use for the poll method? I was rejected by affiliate.com today. I was accepted by convert2media and CPAbullet although I haven’t found any email submits there yet. I also applied to fluxads, azoogle and ads4dough and I am waiting to hear from them. Neverblue called me today and I missed the call and have called them back twice and left messages but haven’t heard back.

Thanks for all your help Steven!!

288

admin 05.13.09 at 3:52 am

Yes, Wotogepa has tons of email submit.

Jason 05.13.09 at 9:51 pm

Steve, Ive heard you talk a lot about rotating my offers when someone click to vote on my poll question. My question is this. I was thinking about instead of sending my visitors directly to an offer in hopes of the offer being rotated to them converts, but just sending them to a page with about 5 or six different offers listed on it and maybe some “made up poll results”. this way it would give all visitors a chance to choose an offer they might be interested in instead of just throwing a random offer in their face. every once in a while i might scrap the offers that aren’t converting and maybe list a few more different offers while keeping the ones that do convert. what are your thoughts on this?

admin 05.14.09 at 2:51 am

I send traffic straight to offers. Those are “cold traffic”. People click on my ad out of curiosity, they have little patient to spend time reading stuff on my page. Their patient is short span. Thus, I want to send them to only one offer, they either submit their email address or leave.

That’s me…..I’ve not tried multiple offers. You can still try multiple offers if you want. Testing 100 clicks in Content Network is not expensive though. :-)

beagle 05.14.09 at 5:05 pm

Thanks so much for your detailed list of site exclusions. I have a followup question if I can trouble you a little more.

Your exclusion list does not contain youtube.com. Do you exclude youtube traffic? On a related note, the Adwords exclusions interface has a tab called “Page Types” where you can exclude parked domains, error pages, and other kinds of sites (forums, social networks, etc). This is all in addition to the specific list of sites you listed. Do you check any of these options? Or do you use only your exclusion list?

292

admin 05.15.09 at 3:17 am

You can always exclude Youtube and those parked domains, error pages, and other kinds of sites like you’ve said. Definitely save you some Adwords cost. I didn’t notice there is a tab called “Page Types”. :-)

beagle 05.15.09 at 2:10 pm

What is the purpose of bidding on 2000 keywords?

I have been using the Adwords Keyword Tool because I don’t have Keyword Elite. The Adwords tool will generate, at most, about 200 keywords. I split these into ad groups of 50.

It is clear from my poll traffic that one or two of the ad groups get most of the hits, because these have the “strongest” keywords.

Even if I managed to create a list of 2000 keywords, wouldn’t many of them be of little relevance, and not draw much traffic — or wind up on sites with little relation to the poll? How would having so many keywords be helpful?

294

admin 05.16.09 at 3:13 am

The purpose of getting many keywords out there is to get our ad appears in as many sites (with Adsense on them) as possible. I use 2000 keywords because KeywordElite is able to generate the number for me. If you can’t get 1000-2000 kw with Google Keyword Tool, run your campaign with anything your have. It’s fine. Since I’ve a negative kw list with me, I should have weed out a bunch of un-relevant kw before I start a campaign.

Note: Not all of my campaigns run with 2000 kw. Some niches I run small keyword list (800-1000 keywords). Some smaller niche just won’t give me 2000.

Naveen 05.17.09 at 2:04 pm

steve,
I bought your ebook. The book gives enough information to get started with.could you suggest some ebooks which helps get better at “keyword research”?

Thanks

296

admin 05.18.09 at 2:25 am

I am not sure if you need a keyword research book for poll. I don’t need one. I just use whatever spit out by KeywordElite. That’s all.

Remember, Content Network is theme triggered. Not so much on keyword. Google looks at your keywords in one ad groups to determine your keywords “theme”. They will then place the ad on a website that fits the “theme”.

Hi Steven got your ebook thanks can you expand on this post i found please and have you had any experience with negative keywords being themed in the content network.
Thanks Al

Optimizing for the Google Content Network: Tip of the Week
Posted on April 15th, 2009 in Expert Tips, PPC Management by Sarah
Optimizing for the Google Content Network can be tricky, even for a PPC pro. I’ll assume that our savvy expertSEM readers know the basics of setting up an AdSense campaign and how it’s different from search (such as creating separate campaigns, choosing a few tightly themed keywords, using custom bids, etc.). Knowing that a content campaign is targeted by matching the keyword theme to website content, it makes sense that negative keywords in content should be considered differently than in search. For example, re-think competitor brand terms as negatives in a content campaign, since a relevant placement might compare and review different brands. Now, for this week’s tip, I’ll pass along something new that I learned recently about negative keywords:

Negative keywords in a content campaign are also collectively interpreted as a theme. It’s true! Negatives should be chosen carefully and used sparingly. Whatever you do, don’t copy your extensive and random assortment of search negatives into your content campaign. To optimize on the Google Content Network, optimize your ad copy for the best click through rate and use placement performance reports for click and conversion data before adding negative keywords. Check out AdWords Help to read more about optimizing with negative keywords in content.

Hello Steven,

Amazing thread here. I am very close to signing up to ppc coach under you. I just want to get it clear before I do though.

I did purchase your ebook and I must say it is not very noob friendly for me. I couldn’t implement many things described in there. So if I were to come on board, what kind of support will I get from you? Will it just be email? Will you do instant message? Phone call? I’m the type that like to move fast and take a lot of action. The only thing that stops me is my lack of expertise in technology.

Btw, do you do other methods besides polls? Will I be able to learn from you on those methods as well?

I’m already connected with affiliate.com. Ready to ROCK!

299

admin 05.22.09 at 3:38 am

@ Alan - That’s a good read, the post make sense to me. This is what you can do: filter your negative keywords BEFORE using your keyword list for each Adwords campaign. I set up negative-keyword-list filter with KeywordElite to do the job . If you don’t have KeywordElite, I believe you can always weed out the “negative keywords” with Excel pretty fast.

@ Dubby - I can take a look at your Adwords account and landing page before you launch the first few campaigns. Other than that, feel free to email me if you’ve questions. I don’t do IM and phone consultation. Too busy for that. You’ve 2 full time coach in PPC Coach to help you though.

You need some basic html knowledge to use the script in PPC Coach. They have videos to show you how. When I first started, I know nothing about coding and stuff like that. I slowly picked up everything over time. Even now, I’m still not a master in html….just know “enough” to set up landing page to make money with polls. :-)

benjamins 05.22.09 at 6:37 pm

hey steven, i got these questions from revenue loop.

Thank you for applying to the RevenueLoop CPA Affiliate Network. We are currently reviewing your application and I just have a few questions for you:

1) Please tell me about your CPA Affiliate Marketing experience.

2) What traffic sources do you utilize to promote CPA offers (email, banner, contextual, search)?

3) Is there a particular niche that you focus on?

4) Describe the ideal Affiliate / Affiliate Manager relationship.

5) Do you work with US traffic or international traffic? If you work with international traffic, which countries?

How would u answer it?

thanks

301

admin 05.23.09 at 1:28 am

I’ve helped a friend out with answering a questionnaire from another CPA Network. Download the document from the link below (it’s free), take my format reference and use your own words. You should have no problem getting approved.

How would u Describe the ideal Affiliate / Affiliate Manager relationship?
I don’t have any relationship with any AM before..

Jermaine 05.23.09 at 8:05 pm

Hello, I bought your ebook and I have a couple of questions. I have already become members of a couple of networks including some of the ones you listed and I have a google adword account. My questions are:
1. Do I need a domain and hosting for each poll that I run and also are the multiple adgroups under one domain?

2.I understand that you get a domain and use google adwords to enter your domain name in the display and distination so they are sent to the landing page. What I need to know is once they are on the landing page how do you set up a link from the landing page to your affilite link so that when they click on which ever poll decision they are sent to your promotion? Can you give me some resources that show you how to do this?

3. If I join the PPC coach will there actual communication and hands-on walk through with members to help you build this business?

304

admin 05.24.09 at 3:56 am

@ Benjamin- It’s simple, just seek help when you need assistant. Remember, don’t show AM your assets though. Don’t show them your landing page, ad copy, keywords etc.

@ Jermaine-
1. You only need one domain for all your polls.

2. Just place your affiliate links behind the option links. Anyone clicks on either of the option links, they’ll be sent to the email submit offer page.

3. There are 2 full-time coach and a few other assistant coaches around to help. There are videos and tons of articles to learn. If you need help, just post in the forum for assistance.

Alan Kirke 05.24.09 at 4:20 am

Hey Steven,
Question please mate does the pppccoach help with all the up to date stuff with the content network.
I mean there are all these courses/software on line
ppcninja, ppc bully, google cash detective etc .

I have a small site here in Austaralia and do ppc (for a couple of years now to drive leads)but want wo know more about the content network.

Also what does PPC Coach have to say about the new changes to adwords interface.
thanks in Advance Alan Kirke

306

admin 05.24.09 at 2:42 pm

PPC Ninja is showing you some of their tricks on making money with PPC/CPA. Google Cash Detective is an expensive PPC spy tool. No idea about PPC Bully, didn’t look at the product. I’m not sure you’ll learn Content Network stuff from those products.

Honestly, PPC Coach doesn’t teach Google Content Network in a step-by-step way either. (Though I’m promoting the membership site, I still want to make sure you’re fully aware what you’ll get)

In PPC Coach, most members are running polls and other CPA offers via Content Network in their first month. Because of that, everyone gets to learn Content Network by actually running live PPC campaigns.

Some of the top players leave tons of useful tips in the forum. Those great threads get “stickied” in the forum. You get to learn from real people sharing their Content Network tips just by reading those stuff. In short, you get to learn from experienced Content Network marketer, run your own campaigns, and ask questions when you need help. Also, there is 2 experienced PPC Coach to seek advice, watch videos, use some great tools etc.

Hope that answered your question.

Tom 05.28.09 at 4:42 am

Hi Steven,

Thanks for all the GREAT advice.

I bought the book and will sign up from your link for PPC Coach.

I have just started to sign up for the CPA networks and it appears to me that they are all looking for experienced operators, is that the case?

I’m a newbie at this and I’m concerned at being rejected due to lack of prior knowledge so I would like your opinion on how to complete the applications.

Thanks

308

admin 05.28.09 at 11:53 am

No worry, I know newbie really need a step-by-step guide on how to get approved by CPA networks. I’ve a newbie-friendly report to help. Read and apply my steps, you shouldn’t have a problem getting approved by most of the networks you apply to.

Hey Steven,

This PPC Coach is very interesting, but can i still use the apps even when my membership to PPC Coach is expired?

310

admin 05.29.09 at 1:50 pm

You can’t use those application once you’re not a member.

311

Tom 05.29.09 at 8:47 pm

Hi Steven,

So far I’ve been accepted by 4 networks so I can begin:-)
I haven’t seen anywhere any instructions on how to link the free offer on the landing page to the CPA offer to earn the commission, have I missed something?

Tom

312

admin 05.30.09 at 2:28 am

Just place your affiliate links behind the option links and you’re done. When visitors click on either of the option links, they’ll be sent to merchant’s page.

Hey Steven,
Been following the ppc bully launch, left acouple of posts and found that a lot of paople are asking about
…”How to apply for CPA Networks?”
Thought that could be a great opportunity for your great advice.
Keep well Alan

314

Denny 06.04.09 at 3:39 pm

Steven,

Do you have any suggestion where i can get free keyword tools? because i can’t afford keyword elite at the moment.

Thank’s

315

Mike 06.04.09 at 4:21 pm

Steve,
Are you still netting $3000 to $5000 per month? How quickly do you have to replace old polls with new polls to keep up the your level of income.

316

admin 06.05.09 at 3:15 am

@ Denny - Google Keyword Tool is a good option. You may use YSM (Yahoo Search Marketing) tool, it’s free too.

@ Mike - If you break it down to making $100-$150 a day, it’s not hard doing it. Like I’ve mentioned in my earlier post, you only need 5 campaigns each netting around $20 per day and you’re in the club. Yes, I’m still in the $3000-$5000 club. :-)

317

Denny 06.05.09 at 4:36 am

Steven, thank’s for the tip.. based on the results it seems that almost all the keywords that i get is very high in competition is it all right if i use them?

In my understanding those high competitive keywords are expensive.

318

john 06.05.09 at 9:53 am

steve,

ive got problem

1) my adwords never works. i never get the keyword i wish too.

2) my campaign never run well. stuck with template and so on.

3) almost all email offers need lead to complete lot of surveys, offers. its quite hectic.

i really wanna learn and master this.

319

Joe 06.05.09 at 2:44 pm

Steven,
Is it a good idea to use wordpress to run the polls?
I yes is there a setting on wordpress that you can define a url for the poll? for example if you run a poll on Obama can you define it as http://www.yourdomain.com/obama.

320

admin 06.05.09 at 4:44 pm

@ Denny - We’re running ads in Google Content Network. It is different from the Search network. In the Content Network, it’s not so much on keywords. This is because Content Network ads are theme-triggered, not keyword triggered. Google looks at the keywords in your adgroup as well as your actual ad in order to figure out where to place your ad.

Yes, even in Content Network you still pay higher if the competition is tough. But we usually bids on people’s name or news and event with low bids. If you’re bidding too high, (over 0.20) you’re no following.

@ John - Looks like you’re new to Adwords and CPA Networks in general. Send me more details so that I can help. You can reach me here: http://100adaymethod.com/contact-us

@ Joe - Yes, you can do that.

321

john@johnbaem 06.05.09 at 5:44 pm

hey steve,

its me your country man. like i said previously, im able to do poll page n include the email offer to merchant page.

but, the lead are not coming in because of the adwords campaign and also the lead that come usually arent able to complete the email submit thingy. itz bcoz, they are always another offer from merchant in the next page.

im having lots of CPA account but most of them that providing zip submit having the similiar stuff.

322

Denny 06.06.09 at 5:49 am

Is it fine if i run the same offers on different polls? for example, running Wall Mart gift cards on more than one poll.

Thank’s

323

admin 06.07.09 at 2:14 am

@ John - When you pick up offers, only use those “single page submits”. Some email submit offers are “second page submits”….for those, you don’t get paid unless the punters go beyond the 2nd page.

@ Denny - Yes, you can do that.

324

Denny 06.07.09 at 2:43 am

Steven, when did you decide to lower your bid from 0.20?

325

Denny 06.07.09 at 3:03 am

Steven, how to activate the content network? when i logged in to my adwords account i only see the create your first campaign button..

326

Putu 06.08.09 at 11:26 am

Steven, offers in my polls are receiving clicks but they are not converting :(.
Here is my poll http://pollsgalore.com/obama do you have any tips?

327

admin 06.08.09 at 12:06 pm

@ Denny - Start lowering bids when your ad receives more than 1000 impression.

@ Putu - Have you sent 30 clicks to an offer? That’s the minimum clicks to tell if an offer is converting. If it’s not converting, start rotate offers.

328

Joe 06.12.09 at 1:49 pm

Steve,
I started running my campaigns
On my first campaign I had 75000 impressions in the first day but only 7 clicks, its about .02% CTR.
I also started running my second campaign it’s also something like that: 50000 impressions and 3 clicks
:-(
What can I do to improve the clicks?

329

celine 06.19.09 at 6:16 am

Hi,
1.Can I know how many impression at a adgroup that no generate click you pause it?

2.i got one adgrounp have 37click CTR 0.03% cost $4.36 i only get 1 lead earn $1.10 , do i delete it or wait longer time to see what happen?

330

admin 06.19.09 at 4:37 pm

Joe - You must have tons of unrelated keywords in the adgroups. Delete any adgroup under 0.05% CTR. Build a couple of new adgroups with some targeted keywords. That should improve your click through rate.

Celine - Delete any adgroup under 0.05%.

331

Christina 06.23.09 at 4:25 pm

Your email link to this came at exactly the right time. I was in the process of building my landing page for my first poll. So far I’ve been accepted to one CPA site and I have apps in at two more and I need to make the phone calls today. I will be purchasing a domain name next week and hopefully can get this rolling.

332

chris nathaiel 06.24.09 at 4:19 pm

please i dont know if you can show us sample of the kind of website one can design on his/her own, that these CPA will not reget. i downlaoded the script, but i was unable to install it. do i need to install PHP software first?
thanks
chris

333

Christina 06.25.09 at 2:52 pm

While getting money together to get started, I’ve been working on polls and landing pages. I have three landing pages, 2 are people / entertainment related and one is sports related. They all have different offers. How should I test these? Should I have like 3 different entertainment polls with the same offer or the same 3 polls with different offers? I’m planning to start small and run 3 to start.

334

admin 06.25.09 at 3:06 pm

@ Chris - It’s easy, you don’t need a sample site. Go buy 10-20 PLR articles on a topic, create a WordPress blog from you cpanel, copy and paste those content into your WordPress blog as individual posts. Simple as that. Since we’re not doing any SEO here, don’t worry about duplicate content. If you really want to see an sample, let me show you one. I like this one: http://www.mytravelbackpack.com

If you’re trying to use BigFish script, this is the steps:
1.Sign up at https://pnp.bigfishgames.com
2.After you’ve signed up, go here: https://pnp.bigfishgames.com/content/xml.php?page=sgs
3.Download Satellite Gamesite System v0.7
4.Unpack it on your server, and run install.php
3.You’re done. You now have a nice, content filled site to show the networks.

@ Christina - You need to test them all, it’s all about testing :-)

335

Mike 06.25.09 at 10:05 pm

Hey Steve,
Great service.
1. Has the Poll Method been tested on Google Search?
2. Should we stay away from all Celebs or just sexy ones?(seriously)

336

admin 06.26.09 at 3:17 am

1. Search Network requires way higher CPC. Poll method doesn’t work on Search.
2. Only sexy ones.

337

Alexander 06.26.09 at 10:26 am

Hi Steve,

Sorry to bother, but I just have a question about taxes and don’t know who to ask. As I’m trying to apply for affiliate.com I got onto a page that requires information for tax, so will I need to pay taxes on my earnings on CPA networks?

338

Christina 06.26.09 at 11:44 pm

Okay, I went to set up my first set of ads and apparently the Adwords Interface has changed and looks nothing like in your report. I’m not seeing where I can tell it to only put them on the content network. I’m searching all over Google’s help files but I can’t see a way to keep the ads out of search. What is the new set up now that things have changed?

Christina

339

Christina 06.27.09 at 12:23 am

Okay, I figured it out after some trial and error. Whew! Now my first set is running so we’ll see.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t let me add your list of blacklisted sites. Do you have to do that at the beginning of a new campaign? I saw the option to do add the sites but the option to “save” was grayed out.

340

admin 06.27.09 at 3:03 am

@ Alexander - Yes, I need to pay on my earnings on CPA in this country. As long as I fund my local bank account with “earnings”, I need to pay tax. The law varies in different country (US states), find out from your local tax department.

@ Christina - Yes, I always add my blacklist at the beginning of a new campaign.

341

Christina 06.27.09 at 4:18 am

I had a shock! I went check on my ads and I was up to $18 in clicks! I checked the setting and discovered that when I switched to the new interface they are using it CHANGED the setting from content only to all networks! I’m glad I caught it, but I’m afraid it’s skewing my results. I now have it changed back to content only. So be careful if you switch from the old interface to the new and make sure the settings are correct.

342

Christina 06.27.09 at 7:41 pm

Okay, due to the mistake with the ad being in search and not just content, I’m already at my budget, so I’m pausing the ad for now. I don’t know if I should post any CTR stuff or not since it was skewed due to being in search and not just content. What do you guys think?

Anyway, I know what offers did really well and which ones didn’t, so I’ll be changing those offers before starting up the ad again. Once I get the bill to Google paid and have some more money next week I’ll start it up again. I just don’t want to go too far into the hole.

So far I have a $67 balance with Google. I ended up keeping my cost at .20 because I was confused with the info they were giving me. One screen says one thing, another something else. Next time I will lower the bid and I will double check that it’s only in content and nothing else. The setting for rotate evenly was also wrong.

I have been getting leads and I’m at about $20 in my Wotopega account :)

Expenses so far: $7.99 domain name, $0.00 for hosting at 000webhost.com (not an affiliate link) and $67 to Google ads = approximately $75 in expenses. I created the landing pages myself using simple HTML and tips from the pic of Steven’s example and some other examples I found online.

343

Christina 06.30.09 at 7:00 am

I’d like to clarify how many polls you have running, Steven. You have 6 campaigns with 1 adgroup in each campaign? Are they all different polls? I was running 1 campaign with 3 adgroups all based on the same poll but they went to different offers and were worded differently.

BTW - I ended up owing Google $72 and they billed me when I paused my ads. I don’t really like that they don’t update in real time but I think I’m learning and this mistake won’t happen next time. I hope to be running polls again within the next two weeks. I have $21 at Wotopega and I’ll be applying with more sites tomorrow.

And for the lady that was doing the Susan Boyle vs. Elaine Paige poll back in April, you said you were targeting U.S. traffic but you didn’t know why your poll wasn’t working. I can probably guarantee you that 90% of U.S. residents don’t know who Elaine Paige is. I don’t know Elaine Paige is, but I would guess she’s a famous British singer based on the context. So be sure that your poll is relevant to the area you’re targeting.

344

admin 06.30.09 at 5:02 pm

6-7 campaigns, each with multiple adgroups. Yes, they’re different polls.

345

Christina 07.02.09 at 5:46 pm

Another question. Do you WANT your little poll site indexed by Google? I’m going to revamp mine to make it look nice but I’m thinking I don’t want it indexed. Is yours indexed and if not, how can you “hide” it?

346

admin 07.03.09 at 1:13 am

Yes, my site is indexed. I don’t hide it from Google.

347

Nicole 07.07.09 at 12:05 am

Hi Steven,

I’ve been approved by copeac, azoogle, CPA Bullet, etc and waiting on responses from numerous others. There’s one thing I don’t understand. Most offers have geographic restrictions (ie offer is only available for US traffic or US-Canada traffic). How do I do this? I am from Canada so does that mean I can only use the Canadian traffic offers or can I still target US as well? That’s the only part that is confusing me right now. Thanks for any info.

P.S. I will be registering under your link this Wednesday (pay day!).

348

admin 07.07.09 at 1:22 am

Nicole, you can run US offers. When you’re in Adwords, just select US for your campaigns. That way, you’ll send only US traffic to your ads and offers.

To see US offers from your country, download WorldProxy202. Here is the URL http://worldproxy202.com

Scott 07.11.09 at 9:14 am

Hi,
I have set up my first poll and adwords campaign. However, this has been running for three days and I have not had any impressions on the content network.

Is it possible that my ad has somehow been missed for approval?

Thanks for your help

Scott

353

Christina 07.11.09 at 8:50 pm

Have my next set of ads running today. Let’s hope they do well! I made sure they were in content only this time. No mistakes again!

My 15 year old wants to know if he can do this. Steven, do you or anyone know if a teenager can do this? I would assume that the ad network requires you to be 18.

354

Christina 07.12.09 at 4:22 am

I think I did better when the ad was running in the search network too. I ran the same adgroups I ran before, got up to $20 and only got one lead.

I have one poll that has not been approved yet, probably because it has a certain soon-to-be former governor’s name in it. I have another poll running as well with one of the higher paying offers with it now. I’ll get it up to $20 and see how it’s going. The time of day may play a factor as well, though.

355

Dee 07.16.09 at 7:21 pm

Hi Steven.

I submitted an application to Neverblue and spoke to the AM earlier today to see if he could approve my application.

He wanted to see an example of something that I’m doing but my phone rung and I let him know I had to take the call. He sent me an email in which I have pasted below.

We recently spoke over the phone regarding your application to become a publisher on our network. In order for us to get a better understanding of your experience and expertise we require the following information:

·Links for examples to your functioning landing pages or websites and
·Screen shots of your accounts with other CPA networks. You can block and $ amounts or other sensitive information. We are not interested in how much $ you are making, but rather the fact that you have experience.

If you do not respond in 2 weeks your application will automatically be denied.

Can you help me out with what my next step should be.

Thanks.

@ Dee - For setting up landing page, this is what you can do: get a copy of affiliate theme to set up your landing pages. You have to pay for it though. With Affiliate Theme, you can set up landing page in minutes. Here is the URL: http://www.affiliatetheme.net/what-is-it/

It seems you don’t have any account screen shot to show them at this moment. Since you’ve 2 weeks with them, try to apply to other networks first. Show them other CPA network accounts instead.

357

Dee 07.17.09 at 4:50 am

Actually, I don’t have a landing page to show them. I did use the script that you sent to me and also, I am a member of Azoogle. I applied to several other sites that I called today but didn’t get through. Actually I did get through to Pepperjam but they said that they would have to call me back.

I did mention to them that I’m working with other networks but he still wanted to see some example of my work.

He was requesting web addresses of my work to be more specific.

I do hope to get setup with other networks, so are you saying just take a snapshot of the network pages when I’m logged on and send them the snapshots?

Thanks.

358

admin 07.17.09 at 5:41 am

Yes, show them your account.

No, that’s not my site.

Looks like he’s “recycling” my content.

Joseph 07.19.09 at 10:07 pm

Hello,

I bought your e-book but have some questions:

1.) Do I need to worry about tracking pixels from networks? Can I just use the URL and forget about including the tracking pixels?

2.) If I do 3 polls on say, Britney Spears, does each poll/question need it’s own Campaign, or can I use 1 Campaign, ie. “My Britney Spears Polls”, and then use different Adgroups for each poll?

3.) Should each Adgroup be seperated into “themes”, ie. Britney Spears is fat keywords, Britney Spears is sexy keywords, or does it matter?

4.) Isn’t it good enough to just use “Britney Spears” as the only keyword since “Britney Spears” will appear on every page that I care about showing my ad on? I mean, “Britney Spears is a cow” shouldn’t matter since “Britney Spears” is in that keyphrase anyway.

Thank you for your time.

362

Joseph 07.19.09 at 10:34 pm

I have one more question:

Looking at affiliate offers at Neverblue, I see:

Promotion Allowed: web, socialnet

Promotion Not Allowed: email, search, dls, regpath, host and post

What does all this mean? Which offers should I use?

Again, thanks.

363

Joseph 07.19.09 at 11:30 pm

Here’s another website that’s ripping you off:

http://cpa-coaching.com/make-money-online/

364

admin 07.20.09 at 2:32 am

Joseph,

1. Don’t worry about tracking pixels.

2. Yes, start a new campaign for each poll.

3. It doesn’t matter, as long as you’ve Britney related keywords, you’re good to go.

4. I would suggest using more than one keyword. One keyword works, but you’ll face higher competition from other bidders. Though Content Network is “theme based”, but Google still look at keywords CPC to show your ads.

As a side note, I never run polls on celebrity, especially sexy celebrities. These polls on “Hot” chicks are tough to convert. The only ones clicking will be perverts wanting some nude pics.

CPA-coaching.com is my site :-)

Nicki 07.20.09 at 9:06 am

Hi Steven,
I understand once you are with some networks you can use those as sort of referals but when you need to get into the first one what do you do? you have no referrals.lol
Thanks Nicki

Wendy 07.20.09 at 11:41 pm

Hi!
Steven, I joined PPC-Coach and believe me; I feel like I am 3 years late; I was wasting my time trying different methods in DP and warrior forums.
PPC-Coach is amazing! A lot of information, great tools for just 50 Canadian dollars.
At first sight, I was panic. I am not familiar with these tools, and my English sucks! But, I am following your step by step guide.

Thank you very much for your bonus, without this guide I could not be able to understand how to download and install T_stable_1.13.zip.

There is a 2.01.zip available but I will download 1.13. I do not want headaches setting it up.

I think joining to PPC-Coach is essential in order to be successful.

Thanks Steve

In my report, you’ll find complete information. I even go into details on how to reply CPA networks questionnaire. On short, you’ll find answers to all questions on how to get accepted into CPA networks.

Here is the download link:
http://www.100adaymethod.com/cpa-passport

It’s 100% free, no need to opt-in.

@ Wendy - Welcome to the club :-)

368

admin 07.21.09 at 1:57 am

Joseph - use offers that allow “Search”

369

Joseph 07.25.09 at 11:49 pm

Hello, I am looking at Neverblue Ads and I see Banner Creatives, and Search Creatives to use. But…

1.) Do I care about using SubId’s if I’m using some other tracking tool like Tracking202 or Google Analytics?

2.) In the Get HTML section it says, “Use Website” where I have to select which website I want to use. Do I have to use my poll website or can it be the website I showed them when I signed up (non poll)?

Thanks so much. You rock.

370

admin 07.26.09 at 3:01 am

1) If you’re using Tracking202, don’t worry about sub-id.

2) It doesn’t matter. Take your affiliate link, place it behind the poll option links and you’re done.

This is example of an affiliate link:

Hi Steven, just got your ebook !I have an online shopping webportal(www.eshopfun.com) and not sure if it’s ok to use that for sign up a CPA network? Can you take a look?

372

admin 07.28.09 at 4:59 am

Natali, your site looks great to me. Good to go ahead with it.

373

Natali 07.30.09 at 6:41 pm

Hi Steven, I’ve just called the azoogleAds’ toll free number today to check my status. They are now directing people who check their application status to their website. I think they probably have too many application? I am not sure if it’s appropriate to call their branch office in NY (I live in San Francisco, but they don’t have a number listed under their SF office).

374

Natali 07.30.09 at 7:38 pm

Hi Steven, the NY office did contact me and they rejected my application since there is not enough traffic to my website. They said I can give them a call once I get enough traffic, so they will approve me immediately. Any advice on this case?

375

admin 07.31.09 at 1:51 am

Natali, looks like you have to apply to another network. Can’t do much with them at this moment.

376

Natali 07.31.09 at 2:16 am

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your advice. Their decision made me feel less comfortable in applying another network at this moment, but of course, I won’t give up for this one rejection! :) I would like to join the PPC Coach program for further study of CPA, just click the affiliate link you provided above?

Natali 08.05.09 at 9:36 pm

Hi Steven,

I’ve joined the PPC Network and try to sign up more CPA networks. Hope this time it works. How much do you spend for one poll usually? You said it’s about 3 winners in 10 polls, do you use adwords only or other SEM companies as well? (MSN and Yahoo as the PPC Coach suggested?)I feel like starting my first campaign is the hardest thing!

384

admin 08.06.09 at 1:59 am

I only use Adwords.

385

I have new website, when register to Affiliate.com , there is question Site views/month,. what i should answer this question because my site currently new , maybe only me the visitor..

Thanks

386

admin 08.06.09 at 4:11 pm

If it’s a brand new site, tell them you have between 1000 to 3000 unique visitors a month. It’s too early for them to track down your monthly unique with tools like Quantcast.com and Compete.com

has google recently implemented any change in Quality score for “content network”? I know a few people who are complaining about quality score on their “search” campaigns.

396

Smam 08.19.09 at 9:28 pm

Hi Steven

I love your “The Poll Method” ebook and have just joined PPC Coach forums via your link. So have just started taking my baby steps.

Which receipt am i supposed to send you as proof, the paypal email or the PPC Coach confirmation link.

Regards

397

admin 08.20.09 at 1:51 am

@ Mike - QS is not too important when you’re running ads in the Google content network. You need basic set up for each of your landing page to please Google.
Basically, this is what I do:

1) Keyword in ad headline, body.

2) Keyword in prominent positions on the landing page (title, h1, h2, body text, link text).

3) Some content on the landing page, at least a few paragraphs, which could be anything as long as the keyword is in there.

4) A link to a privacy policy.

6) A link to another site that’s trusted and important. I recommend Wikipedia.

@ Smam - Yes, send me your PPC Coach Paypal receipt. YOu can reach me here: http://100adaymethod.com/contact-us

Manu Grewal 08.20.09 at 5:14 am

Hey Steven.

I’m trying to follow along with you advice but I’m having a little problem. In Google Adwords, when I select to just have my campaign be shown in the content network, Adwords displays a message saying that I must select the Search network as well, otherwise they don’t review my keywords. How do I target the content network alone?

Thanks so much for your help Steven. You’ve put up a lot of great information up here.

399

admin 08.20.09 at 6:25 am

It’s easy, simply select Search Network and go through the entire process. Till you have your campaign set up, change it to Content Network.

400

Manu Grewal 08.20.09 at 6:53 pm

Oh okay. Thanks Steven.

Also, do you know why my I am not getting any impressions for the content network? It seems that only the search network is able to get me any impressions. I read somewhere online that it takes time for the content network to get approved.

Thanks for your help!

401

Willie 08.27.09 at 8:05 pm

Hi,
Thanks for all your help on this site Steven!

I signed up for affiliate.com. In the email submit offers, do I need to look for one that says contextual advertising, or is search traffic okay?

Thanks
Willie

402

admin 08.28.09 at 2:24 am

Look for “Search Traffic”.

403

Wendy 08.30.09 at 11:26 am

Hi!

I would like to know if you have used Market Samuray or noblesamurai.com keyword tool?

I want to buy a good tool to find niches…This tool looks really good!

What do you think?

Regards,

Wendy

404

admin 08.30.09 at 12:17 pm

I don’t use those tools, so it’s hard for me to comment.

405

Stephen 09.07.09 at 7:29 pm

In your poll method you say “I have campaigns starting with a $100 daily budget and I slowly bring it up to
$1,000 over time when I see great ROI”.

Why would you increase it, is it just so the campaign wont run out of funds?

406

admin 09.08.09 at 1:42 am

That’s to get Google send me more traffic. No worry, they just won’t send you that many as you intended. Most of the time, it’s way less than your $1000 daily budget.

407

Stephen 09.08.09 at 5:09 am

ok, so the bid price and the budget work together to give more traffic.

408

admin 09.08.09 at 5:13 am

You’re right Stephen.

409

Ron 09.19.09 at 5:04 am

Hi Stephen, I found you through the Warrior Forum and will soon be joining PPC-Coach through your affiliate link. Couple questions for you though:

I applied at Neverblue before I read your report about how to get accepted, so I didn’t know how to answer some of their questions and I got rejected. How long should I wait before I reapply?

Is your $9 report a bonus for signing up for PPC-Coach thru your affiliate link, or is that a separate product altogether?

Could you look at a couple of my websites and let me know if you think they’re good enough to show to the CPA networks to get approval?

If so, they are:
Affililate Marketing Adventures and
Health and Fitness Central.

Oh, one other thing I almost forgot, if I understand correctly, the poll method is something you learn in the first month at PPC-Coach. Do you use any other methods besides polls?

Thanks Stephen for all the useful info.

410

Ron 09.19.09 at 5:08 am

Oops, that first one is Affiliate Marketing Adventures, not ‘affililate’. LOL, been a long day.

411

admin 09.19.09 at 7:53 am

You can reapply with a new website after the first application failed. If they still don’t like you, it takes 6 months for your next application. Your Health content site looks good.

You’re right, my $9 report is a separate product altogether.

412

YH 09.28.09 at 2:35 pm

Hi Steven,

Your $9 report is great. Very simple and clear.

Seriously considering joining PPC coach under you.

I had no intention of spending so much money on IM. But I am really persuaded by your method and what I read from this forum.

Just 2 simple question :

1.00 My this web site good enough to get approval by CPA network ? http://www.cartoon-worlds.com/.

2.00 I reside in Singapore. Any problem for me to get accepted for US CPA network ?

THANKS!!

413

admin 09.28.09 at 2:47 pm

1. Your site looks good to me. Should be good to go.

2. Not problem. Most networks approve Internationals. You don’t have to be a US resident to be able to get approved by CPA networks. If you need a step-by-step guide on how to get approved by CPA networks, go download a free copy of my guide. Here is the URL:

Hi Steven,

1.00 I had signed up with Adword. Do I need to sign up with OVERTURE and MSN now?

2.00 I want to start with 3-5 networks. What do u recommend.

Thanks!
YH

420

YH 09.30.09 at 12:40 am

Hi Steven,

I want to follow what u do as much as possible.

I read somewhere that u dont use WordPress. But thats the only way that I know how to build a site now. That would be my first preference.

What do I have to do differently when it come to installing LSG and Tracker?

These things seems more technical than I first thought.

Your advice?

Thanks,
YH

421

admin 09.30.09 at 3:00 am

@ Sanjeev- I suggest you get a host with cPanel. Get one from people like Hostgator, it’s only less than $10 per month (and very reliable). Your time is more valuable than saving a few bucks per month.

@ YH- Start with Adwords first, when you have mastered Adwords, you can move on to the others. I’ve recommended a list of CPA networks in my free guide “CPA Passport”.

LSG is a script to generator your poll pages. You use that with Tracker to rotate CPA offers. I know a lot of people are using another WP theme for polls, can’t remember the theme, ask in the forum and you’ll find. I know it’s a little over whelmed when you first started. Take some time go through the “stickie” post in the forum, ask questions when you’re stuck, that was how I learned.

422

Sanjeev 09.30.09 at 11:24 pm

Hi,
I have registered a free domain as cyber-games-world.tk and got my hosting account at HostGator. How do i link both of them. What should be my referer URL in my domain website. And how do i run the SGS install.php.

423

admin 10.01.09 at 2:13 am

Go to your Domain Name Server Set Up, fill in your DNS information. That’s the only thing you need to do. If you don’t get it, find out from Hostgator for more details. You might be able to find out a step by step video from Youtube too.

To run SGS script is easy, just upload the script to your root and punch in your-domain.com/install.php in your web browser. That’s it.

424

YH 10.02.09 at 4:56 am

Hi Steven,

Try to install PPC Coach Tracker this morning. Think I got it 90% but mess up somewhere towards the end. I got the database screen looking like coach’s video screen but my site doesnt work.

Will try again tonight.

I read somewhere (Cant remember exactly) that u mention u dont use the latest version of Tracker. What version do u recommend now ?

Do u install your tracker in another separate domain.

Chris Fong say the WP can do the double refresh so that take away one obstacle.

Coach doesnt bother to reply me because it was a stupid question that was asked. Think he want me to search in the forum and see his video. I can understand that.

I REALLY APPRECIATE that u always respond to my questions.

Regards,
YH

Sanjeev 10.02.09 at 7:56 am

Hi Steven,
Finally i could setup the SGS package. Now i have a website from TK “cyber-games-world.tk” and its hosted at Hostgator and SGS is setup now. I am happy to have a website which i never had. Now i want to know which are the CPA i can try for approval with this site as its new. I am from INDIA can you suggest me the CPA which give me offers. Is this website enough for me to get the CPA approvals from all the major ones.Plz tell me what next.I do not have money to pay to hostgator for next month i should start earning from CPA if i get the approval as soon as possible so that i can pay my hosting fees next month.Do i need to spend money to make CPA offers work for me, once i get approval.I do not have any money for buying adwords.Guide me what next………..

426

YH 10.02.09 at 12:58 pm

Holy Shit !!

I got the PPC Coach Tracker installed and working!

And I am greeted with a welcome saying ” …….PPC Coach Tracker is easy to set up and very user friendly. ”

Ya….Coach…totally agree.

YH

427

YH 10.02.09 at 1:43 pm

Hi Sanjeev,

Sorry about your situation.

But the reality is : You need to have money to do Adword. Min US$100 to 200 would think.

And how can u be sure that u make money to pay for your hosting….and more Adword ?

You need to sort this out before u continue further.

Sanjeev 10.02.09 at 5:52 pm

Hi i applied to maxbounty, neverblue,CPA Storm,PepperJam CPA Network,Market Leverage using the SGS install site my domain name is “cyber-games-world.tk”. I got the rejected notice from maxbouty already and they say that its because that their offers do not match my site.I am afraid that same thing will be the case with other CPA Networks also. Plz let me know after doing all this to get approved if its waste then what to do next……….its disheartening.

429

Sanjeev 10.03.09 at 7:06 pm

Ya today even NeverBlue also rejected my application to its CPA Network.I am from Indian i think it do not accept from my country.

Norm 10.17.09 at 11:45 pm

Hello Steven,
I bumped into your site quite by accident a couple of real late nights ago while researching something or the other. I have read your blog cover to cover. I haven’t seen anything like it really. I had never heard of what you do.
I’m impressed by most of the folks here. Most are just starting, but they write impressive mails, which is a big plus. It shows they have what it takes to succeed if they apply themselves…at whatever they decide to do.
Me, I have the sites, the tools, a good SEO record…and the CPA networks. What I don’t have after a couple of months at PPC is a very good track record. At best, I’m breaking even…and I have been working VERY hard at it. My SEO work has been carrying my PPC experiments so far.
As of yesterday I put up a test page, using everything I could learn from your $9 course. The report is thus right now:
Name Status Impressions Clicks CTR Avg. CPC
RushOffer Active 26,468 17 0.06% $0.14

It has been moving up and down. Seems to be at a low point, down from .09%. 14 cents seem to be as low as my terms will go too. No conversions yet.
Seems like it’s all going pretty much as you predicted so far.
On the faith of your blog, tomorrow I’m going to join up and get busy making polls to see what happens. PPC has NOT been good to me so far and I need some successes. I figure that I’m at least as good as many who are making passable money and I don’t have the hardships you have had, being elsewhere, to overcome. You are making it, and helping others too. Sure, you have taken the next step and need to drive traffic to PPC Coach, but I doubt you are making the big bucks doing that. From what you say, your bread and butter is your poll thing. Personally, I think you are doing the right thing, sharing what you have learned. I think it will pay off for you in the end in ways we can’t see right now. I really appreciate what you have done here.
We can see that this system is working for you. As for me, win, lose, or draw….money maker or pie in the sky, I’m throwing in with you and I’m going to give it my best shot. And I promise to let you and your readers know how it goes. You know, most guys who are succeeding really don’t like to share. They are sneaky and only make their bank deposits after dark. So, when we run across someone like you, it’s a special pleasure. Thanks Steven.
Sincerely,
Norm

Hi Steve,
I bought your guide and have two questions:
1. I was a member of PPC-Coach before. Can I renew through affiliate link and get your guides and assistance?

2. I work with internet through a VPN connection with US IP address (our company’s internet). Can I join networks through this connection?

1. I send out my bonus to people who join through my affiliate links.

2. I’m not too sure. May be you should find out from your affiliate manager?

I applied to ClickBooth and got the approval email. Email says I will receive a phone call within 2 business day. I called but no answer.
What should I do now? What they will ask? Go with AIM?
I have some problem in talking so I want to get ready.

No worry, they’ll just ask some simple questions like what offers you’re interested to run and what’s your promotion methods.

When you’re on the line with an Affiliate Manager, tell them you’re a ppc marketer. They have tons of offers (they call campaigns. Tell them you’re interested to run some dating and email submits campaigns with them. This is sufficient to get you approved.

Hi Steven,
I think I have a fair understanding of the system, so far. My question regards the meta stuff. How do you handle the title and keywords of your poll page? How do you go about choosing the keywords you use and how important is it to improve the landing page score?
Thanks
Norm

Thanks Steve.
I didn’t receive any call from ClickBooth but I got an email which invites me to see some video clips and then pass a test online.

Do you anything about the test?

Hi Steven,

I’ve joined PPC-coach through you link before, however, I didn’t have enough time to work on the method they teach and was cancelled last month. Now I would like to join it again, would you still be fine to look at my first two adword campaign?

@Mohsen - Don’t worry about the ClickBooth tests. They will make u go through a bunch of videos and then u have to pass a very basic test. This is just to make sure you are not a complete newbie. If u are, just pay attention to the videos, all the answers are there :)

Admin, I understand what the double redirect thing does but what I don’t understand is why use it if all your traffic is legal and how to implement it, Will this be tough if I join ppc-coach?

Also, I plan on having affiliates promote my polls for me, in this case my traffic will be coming from all kinds of sources. Do you think this will get me banned from certain networks, I mean do the networks actually care where my website visitors are coming from, even after being approved?

It’s because you don’t want others find out your traffic source and out bid you. In fact is, some of the affiliate managers are affiliate marketers just like us. So, it’s good to protect your “assets”.

Having “affiliates” promote your polls? Why do they want to do it? How are they being compensate? Not sure how you want to set this up….:-)

Hi Steve,

I’ve just read your report (CPA Passport) and I got a few points down…thanks a bunch! However, there’re some questions I’d like to ask;

1. I’d like to sign up with your afiliate link to those Affiliate Networks but I reside in Ghana, Africa. So as to receive my checks, I signed up with a company in the USA who collect my checks and credit to my account. Now, when filling the application form, should I put the USA virtual address, or my local address here in Ghana?

2. I tried signing up with, like 5 CPA Networks and rejected FLAT when I inputed the USA virtual address. Is there something I’m missing out here? I didn’t change my IP address when signing up those CPA companies. Please, what should I do? Any help appreciated.

Here’s a reply from an Affiliate Manager at Market Leverage, after filling the contact page at their site. What do you think of this, Steve? Is anyone still here?
